I've worn the coat in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit (f) and it's held up well, and I'm sure I've worn it in even colder temperatures. It appears to me that it is contingent on the following factors: how long you're out in the sun and how much clothing you're wearing underneath I wear a fleece underneath because there's enough room. If you're just running errands and dress warmly, you'll be fine; however, if you want to go for a walk when it's freezing outside, it'll most likely be too cold. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I'm surprised at how warm it keeps my child and me.
A small will suffice. I'm the same height and weight as you, and I ordered a small. It's a substantial amount of space.
Yes, the zipper is on the side, and I had no trouble zipping it up in a back carry by myself.
The coat appears to be made of cotton or a similar material, so it is not waterproof. I’don’t remember wearing it in rainy weather so’I’m 100% unsure. It does not seem to repel me. It has the appearance of a hoodie, so a little rain wouldn't be a problem.

This is an excellent way to avoid getting cold while carrying your baby in a carrier. It's essentially a hoodie that's tailored for mom and baby, so it's best worn on mildly chilly days. In his mid- to late-forties, possibly in his mid- to late-thirties. My one and only criticism is that the placement of the zipper makes it difficult to zip this thing up with a baby inside. The zipper is on the side, so it's not easy to get it open with a baby inside and stretching the material. Even with the string to aid in zip closure, I needed assistance to close this thing without breaking the zipper. (I purchased the XL based on the company's recommendation that I choose the size I would for a t-shirt. ) It would have been a little easier if I had gotten the larger size. When it's on, it does its job, but it's not designed for temperatures below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, or basically anything you can tolerate with a hoodie and an additional heating source attached to you.
This coat has plenty of room inside, but it does run on the large side, and it does not come with a built-in carrier. Made of a thicker material, it is warm in cold weather and can be worn in temperatures as low as 32 degrees if paired with a sweater. The baby can be worn in either the front or the back. The zipper is strong and should last a long time, and it washes well in a standard washer. It has a lot of storage pockets. This coat, unlike others of its kind, cannot be turned into a standard coat (without the baby). I would strongly suggest it.
This coat is one of our favorites. There was no wrestling with the baby to get him into jackets and sweaters; instead, he was placed in the carrier and snuggled into his coat. It's below 40 degrees here today, so I wore a thin sweater under it and she and I were both fine; if it drops below 30, we'll need another layer, but she snuggled up and fell asleep with a little hat on. In cooler weather, you may need a scarf because the skin around your collarbone is exposed, but this is a simple thing to cover with a nursing scarf or another light scarf between you and your baby. br>br>I've had a few moms compliment it and ask where they can get it, and both my husband and I can wear our baby comfortably in the medium. I'm 5'7" with a medium build, and he's 5'10" with a slim build.
This coat is perfect for me. I put it on in front of my baby. He's eight months old and quite tall. His feet were kept warm, and his head was kept toasty thanks to the hood. As a mom, I appreciated the long zipper pull so I could do it myself, as well as the front and back pockets where I could store my keys and wallet! I would definitely recommend this material to another babywearing mom for the winter.
We arrived in the midst of a snowstorm, and I was concerned about keeping my two-year-old warm because one of our activities included hiking the 1,000 Torii Gates of Fushimi Inari, which was not stroller-friendly. The jacket was unquestionably adequate for both of us! Momma was able to hike to the top because he was completely covered and protected from the cold! I made my husband wear him on the way down, and I wore the RooCoat like any other jacket - It's extremely relaxing! I can't believe I wore him for two years, wrapped in blankets and layers! I wish I'd ordered it earlier!.
It was well-made and kept me warm. My daughter-in-law, on the other hand, did not find it easy to get the baby in and zip up. Has a one-year-old child and is expecting a second child. The one-year-old was uncomfortable in his small space. I'm not convinced she tried hard enough - This jacket appears to be very nice.
It appeals to me greatly. It's very warm, and since baby doesn't need a jacket underneath it, it's perfect for me. out- the- There has been a significant reduction in the amount of time spent at home. br>br>I like how the coat has deep pockets and is long. The fabric is comfortable, and it's simple to wear. The extra-long zip tie is a genius idea! br>br>However, I wish the adult hood was a little longer so it could cover a light-weight hat or ponytail. Also, the baby hood is only useful when the baby is sleeping; otherwise, when she moves her head around, it falls off or gets in her eyes.
I ordered an xxl two years later because I had lost weight, but my daughter was almost three at the time. The xxl is similar in size to the M. For both of us, fitting in is a challenge. I should also mention that we are wearing winter gear underneath, which acts as a cover for our coats.
