They are extremely comfortable to wear. I strongly advise you to use them on a daily basis.
I normally wear a size 16 or 18, and this pant is a size 18w. It isn't too baggy around the waist, but there is plenty of room in the buttocks and thighs. I have the shape of an hourglass. It's a good straight leg, not too wide and not too pegged, with a good weight fabric. It isn't super light, so it won't wrinkle or show every bump. It isn't overly stiff, however.
Extremely comfortable, but the material is extremely transparent. There are a lot of pockets and underwear lines. The stomach fit is shoddy at best. Pockets gape open, and the rise comes up almost to my bra line, making the front of the dress very unflattering. I'm a size 20 pant and a medium/large top, and I've never had pants that were this unflattering around my stomach.
11/19 UPDATE: This article has been updated to reflect the most recent developments. The cotton solid color versions of these pants all have holes in the pockets at the top of the seam, as can be seen in the photos. It appears to be a sewing flaw because it appears in every pair I've received. I kept the rockhill plaid ones because they didn't have holes in the pockets, but I returned the solid ones because they did. Ignore the size chart because it's completely inaccurate. In the Rockhill plaid, order down three sizes; according to the chart, I wear a size 24, but the 18 slides off and requires a belt. br>br>I've now placed orders for the rockhill plaid, black, and gray.
1. The black is a deep shade. Order one size smaller than the measurements on the sizing chart.
2. There is a lot of gray. (The size chart says I wear a 24, but I actually wear a 20. ) Order two sizes down from the sizing chart. )
3. The rock hill plaid comes in a lot of different sizes. (The size chart says I wear a 24, but I actually wear an 18. ) Order three sizes down from the size chart. )
4. The gray is actually a dark gray, a lovely shade that resembles a pair of high-end chinos. By far my favorite.
5. As others have mentioned, these stretch as you wear them, so make sure they're a little snug when you put them on, or you'll need a belt to keep them in place.
6. So far, these are the only plus-size dress pants that are both comfortable and professional-looking.
Buying pants can be a nightmare for a petite woman who is also plus size. Many plus-size pants are too long, and many petite-style pants aren't available in the size I require. Both of these issues are completely eliminated with these pants! Pants that are both lightweight and cool, as well as being durable and easy to wash. If I had to pick one flaw, it would be that they seem to expand a little after a few hours of wear; however, if that isn't an issue for you, these are an excellent choice.
I started with the parchment color and fell in love with them so much that I ordered the indigo rinse and black as well. The parchment and black fabric has a nice texture to it - Soft to the touch, with a subtle sheen and a stretch that moves with the body. The indigo rinse isn't as soft as it appears to be - it's more like a mock denim. They're a little stiffer, but they're still nice and comfortable. Because I'm 5'3" and have short legs, I ordered petite, and they're almost the perfect length - Capris are usually the only pants I can wear straight off the rack without hemming, but these are just a smidgeon longer than I prefer, so shrinkage should be no problem. The only reason I gave them four stars is because the waistband is too big - It appears to be slightly out of proportion with the overall cut of the pants, and I have to wear a belt to keep them from falling down, even under sweaters or untucked blouses. Apart from that, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. Perfect for work or weekend wear in a business casual environment.
These are fantastic! I despise shopping for jeans for my pudgy 50-year-old body more than anything else. I originally purchased dark indigo in 18W and found them to be too large, so I believe these run smaller. I exchanged them for a 16W pair in black and ordered two dark indigo and one khaki pair in the meantime, which all fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. With a nice top and shoes, these would be ideal for my business casual office. With their shape and styling, they remind me more of pants than jeans. The medium length was ideal for my height of 5' 8".
I recently lost a significant amount of weight and had no choice but to buy new pants. I wanted to wait until I'd lost a little more weight before going to work, but I had almost nothing to wear. I bought these because, despite being denim, they look more like trousers than jeans. I can wear them to work and on the weekends while still feeling like I'm wearing my jeans. Coworkers complimented me on how nice I looked and how flattering my clothes were. I discovered that they run a little big, so I had to order a second pair in a smaller size. I also discovered that after a full day of use, and even midway through the day, they tend to stretch out a little. However, washing them and putting them in the dryer will suffice. These were a little too long for me because I have extremely short legs. That was taken care of with a quick run through the dryer! I'm relieved that I won't have to hem my pants yet again. (Or applying hem tape. ) ) The leg length has remained consistent, which is a positive sign. I've been cautious when purchasing Lee brand pants and jeans. The sizing of various styles appears to be extremely inconsistent. I took a risk, and I'm glad I did because I really like these. I'll be ordering them in different colors in the future. (My physical characteristics are as follows: Short legs, long torso, large backside, semi-curvy I also want to mention that I wore them to an out-of-town conference and paired them with a nice button-up top and a black blazer, and they looked great. I kept the same pants on for the evening, but switched to a more snazzy knit top, which worked as well. The bottoms aren't exactly "skinny/straight," but they are unmistakably straight. Lee's style is one that I highly recommend!.
