These shoes are nice, but they don't have any low-cut design
This does not mean that they are waterproof.

As members of a group, we hiked some pretty strenuous trails that were full of rocks, roots, wet creek beds, and slippery inclines/declines (Chimney Tops, Charlie's Bunion, etc. ). A few examples would be some areas of the Appalachian Mountains). In addition to gripping the rocks with ease, my shoes never slipped as well! I loved my shoes so much. My toes were never cramped and I never felt jarred when I stubbed my toe and I was never uncomfortable climbing on sharp rocks or working my way over tricky roots because the toe box provided plenty of room. It never happened to me to get blisters, My socks were regular low cut athletic socks (nothing special about them) and I was perfectly comfortable while wearing them, although you could have worn thicker socks for cooler weather if you had been wearing them. As a precaution, however, I sprayed a couple coats of Camp Dry on them as well to ensure they would be water-resistant and easier to brush clean (I do this with all of my shoes, so this wasn't an unusual thing for me to do. a bit over 3 neighborhood miles (all flat trails). It was a pleasure to get the brown/peach pair, as I think they look more natural. However, I would love to have another pair in a brighter An informational store of hiking outfitters in Gatlinburg had only Merrell shoes. This was an additional confirmation that I picked the right shoe. It was important for me to buy a reasonably priced shoe, but I did not want to spend too much, so I decided on these. I am very satisfied with my purchase as I feel they are worth more than what I They felt a little "clunky" at first, not the way I remember them feeling when I wore my Sketchers walking shoes, but that is actually a good thing when hiking, so I would say they are more of a hiking shoe than an everyday shoe. As soon as we hit the trails, the "clunky" feeling disappeared. For the length of this review, I felt it was very important that all details are accurately documented in case you are searching for.
The Merrells I have are my second pair. Besides the Moab High Top Hiking Boots, I also have the Corral High Top Hiking It's a pair of shoes that are very comfortable. The toe box is wide enough for me to have a prominent pinky toe. It struck me as a bit odd that they did not get a perfect 5 because of the The only downside is that I had to purchase a custom arch support for them. Otherwise, they have been a great shoe for my park walking and canyon hiking adventures.
The peach and boulder ones were what I got. It is usually either an 8 or a 9 for me. The Merrills shoes that I own are a size 5, but I thought these looked like they would be more like a size 8 (more like trail runners than a more padded style like Moab), so I ordered them in the It was an error on my part I had to return these because they were just a little too small - It turned out that one of the Merrill's shoes was a little too small on one of my feet, although I'm not sure whether that was just my foot or the shoe (contrast, my only other experience with this happened with another In my opinion, that particular issue might not be a problem for others, but if you have to size up in Merrills shoes sometimes or are on the edge of your size, order up. There is no cushion on this shoe. My toes felt like they were smushed right over the toe box of this shoe. My experience with this shoe is limited to the fact I have never hiked in them, so I cannot say how comfortable they are for hiking, but I did notice that they seemed to focus more on cushioning heels than supporting arches when they designed it. It was the only reason I did not re-apply I just couldn't stand the color of them, so I had to order them in a larger size! Despite the fact that they were darker brown than shown, I wasn't thrilled with the baby pink accent color (stupid, considering how much I liked them otherwise, but I wouldn't spend $70 on a pair of shoes I can't stand to see- It's frustrating wearing them every morning, especially if I have to). The reason they get 4 stars is that I've been trying to find a pair of hiking shoes like these for many Due to the fact that I hike every day and I wear my hiking shoes out pretty fast, I have owned a lot Last time I tried Merrills hiking shoes, they completely fell apart after the first time I got them wet (and eventually, the seams completely came apart. ) However, these look like they'd last a lot longer! The tread is thicker, the seams are constructed better, and the material looks like it can withstand a lot of abuse (these are not "vented" so have no fear of tears! There should be black versions of these.
I'm pleased with the way things have gone so far! Since there is more than enough room in the toe box, I initially thought they were too loose. Still, we can live with that. When I wear thick socks, it will allow me to wear them. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the heel. It does not seem tight or irritating at all. Despite the fact that one shoe feels smaller than the other, I may have tied it differently or one foot might be narrower than the other. My overall satisfaction with the quality of this purchase is still the result of my liking Merrell's hikers. I find the price to be nothing short of reasonable. As long as I take good care of them, they will last me quite a while.
