Like most people, I prefer the genuine article. I am extremely picky about fake jewelry because it simply does not last and, to be honest, looks fake. I read reviews on this piece and everyone seemed to like it, so I don't have the funds to buy the real thing, but I'd like to add to my collection. Must buy. Layering is a breeze! This necklace is absolutely stunning. It's just the right thickness and gold color! It doesn't appear to be cheap costume jewelry because it looks so good. Every night, I put it on and take it off, but I don't shower in it. So far, it's been great, and I've been wearing it almost every day! It looks great layered with another necklace I bought on Amazon (a paper clip necklace).

This necklace has the appearance of being 14K gold. This necklace has been on my neck for the past five days. When I get in the shower, I remove it. It has the appearance of a genuine gold chain. What I wear is extremely important to me. I'm also unable to purchase a genuine gold chain at this time. It does, however, appear to be genuine 14K gold. When it comes to costume jewelry, I am extremely picky. This, on the other hand, appears to be a genuine 14-karat gold chain. Buy it! If you put it in the shower, I'm not sure how it will react or hold up. But I do know that it wears well and that no one would guess it isn't genuine 14-karat gold.

The necklace is described as hypoallergenic in the description. That is completely untrue; after just one day of wearing it, my neck broke out badly, and the sores around my mouth appeared days later. The rash on my neck has worsened, and it now wraps around my entire neck, itching nonstop.
