A few years ago, I bought one for my husband. The hood was one of the things he liked most about it. As my current robe has recently been claimed by our daughter, I thought that I would buy myself the women's version of what I bought for My height is 5'2" and my weight is 100 pounds. As I have a 34" chest, I ordered the small/med thinking it would fit well. when I tried the belt on, I did the "movement" test. I pushed my hands out to the side and it pulled from the waist. As such, the lower arm pit seam sat just above my waist, so I adjusted the belt so that the loop was higher. It got worse because of that. I realized the outside shoulder seam of my other robe was significantly lower than the one on my other robe because I can sew and can also make patterns. To "lift" the fabric I pulled the fabric inward about 2" around the neckline above the shoulder. The fabric then "lifted" up and I was able to My husband's robe size men's small/medium size, however, had the arm length cut shorter, which I do not like. I therefore tried on the smaller size of my husband's robe. My favourite feature was the longer sleeves (did have to roll them up, but not a problem for me) and how easily I could lift my arms without strain. In order to do this, I spread his robe across the bed, then the one I wore on top of it. I would first like to point out how long the women's robe is! On both gowns, the length from the neck to the shoulder seam is the same. Despite that, I noticed that the sleeves of the robe for men are arranged rectilinearly. It is sewn at an angle on the women's. I have a very different opinion about why it fits the way it does. The last thing I want to say is that I adore this costume- It has a great texture! I love how soft and comfy it is. Therefore, I am unsure if I want to return it for a women's medium/large robe or order the men's robe instead. For what I paid, I do not see any reason to alter it. I could take it apart and resew it, but for what I paid, I shouldn't have to. Even though I keep trying it on for the sake of convincing myself I need to keep it, again, the price is so reasonable, I should absolutely love it!.
I liked how comfortable this robe is, but it sheds like a German Shepherd. It was linty when I first got it so I washed and dried it hoping it would stop The situation was only made worse by this! This particular lint was sticky enough to prevent a lint roller from doing any good. After trying to wash and dry it again, I went to my canister vacuum and tried using it. The last time I bought one of these robes in purple was about five years ago and I loved it so much that I acquired another one. It's so amazing! taken a nosedive. The material is much thinner, not as plush, and out of the bag it shed so fiercely and I did not want to clean it. The bag was too small for it so I had to stuff it back in and vacuum the mess. The worst disappointment I've ever experienced!.
This is one of the items I bought I bought two more to give as gifts because I loved it so much. A fourth one in a different color (wine) has just been ordered. As soon as I opened the package, I noticed the quality wasn't I washed it as soon as I got it. What the heck! There is wine colored lint everywhere and my clothes have been dyed! The fabric has also disintegrated and the washer is full of stains! There is literally no place to put the robe other than on the floor. I am disgusted by this. There is no doubt that this is NOT THE SAME ROBE as the other three previously purchased. It has been many washes since I bought my first robe without any issues. There are two possibilities here either this is an untruthful robe or this company's products have become junk. Buy it. DO NOT buy it. My return will take place soon.
