In my case, I wear a size 16 and ordered an XL. The fit is perfect for me.
There is no need to size up or down since the garment runs true to size.
Though I'm not sure if the gown is generous in the hips, I must say that I'm not familiar with the hip measurements for each size. Several of these bamboo style gowns have been purchased by me and I love them, as they are very light and cool. Consider checking their size chart because you may be able to go down a size but still find it to be I hope this was helpful.

In my house, I had no air conditioning, so I looked for sleepwear that was cool, comfortable, and durable. I am very grateful for this. I have a height of 5'2" and a weight of 220 pounds. A size 18 is what I wear The xxl fit me perfectly and I ordered 20. I enjoyed the way it hangs, but it still shows every lump and bump I have. When I turned over in bed, it didn't get wrapped around me, and it did keep me cool during the night. By the reviews I got the impression this was going to be looser so I ordered another in an XL but if you're an XL and you want coverage I recommend going up a size.
1 year later, we have the following update For a year now, I have washed and dried my turquoise nightdress over and over on a high heat setting every single week, so you can see how it fades. There is some sort of heat radiation coming from those dastardly little pillows that wake me up soaked all night. It was a different night last night. This bamboo stuff must be the stuff of dreams, because even though it was hot outside, I was cool all night in comfort. This gown is excellent! I highly recommend it.
Though I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't make a big deal about the cost, I ordered the nightgown nonetheless. Right now, I'm so happy with how it turned out. This fabric is amazing as I can see it (and feel it). You can just breathe in it and it's so soft. Also, this nightgown does not get tangled around my ankles and trap me in an uncomfortable position when I am sleeping in it. It becomes uncomfortable, and even impossible to fall asleep, when gowns stick in the wrong position when I roll over in bed. When this happens, the gown pulls down around my neck and shoulders, making me uncomfortable and even making it harder to fall asleep. There is no better fabric out there and all women must give it a try. This fabric must be used for a bra and leggings set for me! Whether it was cotton, silk, or something else, I don't know how it was made. Although it is sweet, I do know that!.
My favorite part of this nightie is how soft the fabric is! There is no doubt that I will purchase more. It did happen that I bought a larger nightsuit than I usually wear because another nightie from the same company was too tight for me.
I do not feel hot or cold, just like the way you feel on It has already been purchased several times by me and I've even given one to It has plenty of space in the arms as well. It is just the right size. You can wash it in the washing machine and let it dry on a rack.
