Originally I thought I would buy a backpack for 5 times the price of this bag, but since my commute involves walking (at least for now), I decided to get a tote bag instead. The most important thing for me was a deep, narrow, secure pocket to hold my thermos so that it won't tip, fall, unlock, or leak. In addition to my big purse, this one is large enough to be my lunch bag, too. Additionally, I didn't realize it has an inside pocket and a nice lining to give it a little durability. I find it strange that when all my belongings are loaded in, the bag is not much bigger than I particularly like how wide the straps are and how comfortable they are. It makes me want to go out and buy a second one so I have one for as long as I commute.

A very strong and durable bag with large shoulder straps and a wide opening. In my bag I carry my lunch, files, a computer in a protective case, and everything else that might come in handy at the office. As long as the bag does not rip or dig into my shoulder, it can be carried. For anyone looking for a bag that will hold up to everyday use, I highly recommend this.
It seems I constantly outgrow purses as I have to carry two items of every kind and have to be ready at all times. When I last carried a purse, it was a large DKNY leather purse that I loved, but had a hard time zipping up since it was always filled to the brim. In the beginning, I was skeptical of this bag by Carhart, but since then, I have become a fan. The purse is bigger than I need and it allows me to stay organized as a result, so its size lets me use less space than prior The rugged and well-made design of this purse also means that I am not worried about rain, the elements, or much else with it. With all the use this bag has received, it still holds up very well. It has been about eight months since I got it. There's a lot going on there and it's very powerful. This is a great size for travel as a carry on (I have used it in order to store another large Kate Spade bag for travel protection and it worked perfectly). I purchased this product and can easily fit it into my slim locker as I do at work. It is not structured so it fits perfectly in small spaces. A thick and strong canvas is used for the material. It would be great if the inside lining were a bit darker (it's white/pale blue with thin stripes), as I have several pen marks by the internal pockets that show through In the event that it dies, I will buy.
Even though it might already be too late, I'm planning to send it back to the store. If you are looking for something of that nature, this isn't the bag for you. The zipper is hardly secure, so if you want something like that, don't buy it. There are holes located both on the top and sides that can be easily reached to enter the main compartment. It's pretty much just that it closes up the top but leaves holes on either side. You may want to consider going on a fishing expedition with a large catch I can imagine it working well with an all-bag.
I have tried many different back packs and carryons where I travel, but this is the best. I also use it for my lunch and work materials going back and forth from my desk to the kitchen. The handles are long enough to wear over your shoulder, which I appreciate. Cleans up very well and has a very professional appearance The recommendation is without a doubt.
