It is not possible The smaller version I was given, I returned it and was given the full size version (at first I didn't even realize the listing was different). In the full size version I carry folders of paper and composition sized notebooks. When I put my 15" macbook into the bag, it sticks out above the zipper, making it impossible to zip it up.
