It's been almost a year now, and I've definitely seen the symptoms decline. I however wear them all day and sleep in them, as well as take showers in them and clean them regularly. After wearing it for a few weeks, I will be purchasing again.
It is brass. In the description of the earrings, it is stated that the earrings are yellow and rose gold. There is a typo on the silver ones "base", which I presume is intentional.

Because of my very sensitive ears, I have to wear ear plugs. My ears are very sensitive. I don't mind these. Wearing them all day and night is no problem for me. It did not take me long to buy another pair after I got used to one.

I feel weird. Update After playing with the pavoi huggies for a while, and they developed itchiness (see explanation below), I switched to a very similar huggie, 6 months. I bought them a couple years ago, in rhodium silver (white gold) from a company here on Amazon called Jewlpire. The Jewlpire hoops are a much better alternative to the Pavoi hoops, in my opinion. The same abuse I gave pavoi hoops has been heaped on these. I detest itching, but the Jewlpire hoops do not! It is only every few days that I have had the chance to clean them. I wear them constantly, sleeping, showering, etc. It has been an adjustment. I am very pleased with the way they have performed. In my opinion, the Jewlpire is far superior to these. They don't itch and, more importantly, they don't bother your feet! It is also comparable in price. Update The rhodium plating on the posts of these earrings has begun to flake off after a lot of abuse and 24/7 wear. It is normal for your skin to become irritated after continuous use for months. The thick plates are great at this price, so I'm assuming that the plate was thick first of all. The fact that this happens is not surprising or even a problem to me as a whole. odd thing is that once the rhodium coating started to wear off from the posts, I developed itchiness in my ears. The only jewelry I can wear comfortably is silver, surgical steel, and costume jewelry. Disposable jewelry and pot/base metal makes me itch like no other. At the gym, I have worn them while I was awake, while I was sleeping, in the shower, etc. In spite of all the abuse heaped upon them, they have kept on keeping on. CZs are not missing, the finish is not peeling, and there is no itching. There will be so many colors to choose from! Aside from their solid construction, these suckers are beautifully finished on all sides. In that case. If you want to wear them the other way around, you can flip them around and wear them again. The cost of these is a FRACTION of those of the earrings they replace. I like them better.
