There is about a 1/2 size difference between these and other brands, and when you don't have a shoe horn, it is hard to fit your foot in them. After they are broken into, I think it will be easier to get in. There is not a lot of leather on the back panel and it is like a thin material wetsuit. Winters on the Westcoast tend to be mild, so I think they will survive. As for colder climates, I am not sure how suitable they will be, since the footbeds are My insole will be removed and replaced with one that is cushioned. The front of the shoes is slightly lower than the rear - I like that In addition to creating a nice shape, it adds texture. Neither the quality nor the price can be beat.
I really wanted them to work but they didn't. The boot was downright difficult to get my heel into because I ordered a size up as recommended in the reviews. It was easy to get the length right once they were on, but I couldn't go up a size for the heel problem and still have them fit comfortably. While these boots are not widely advertised, I believe they are EXACTLY what some potential customers I'm also part of the group! The tall leather boot style that is comfortable and stylish has been on my wish list for a long time now.
A few features I was looking for were available in this application. To begin with, you should know the material on the back is very thin and cheap. It was surprising to find a waterproof boot that was so thin. Because the fabric panels are so thin, you can see through them when the light is shone on them. There are some pretty good ones here. The fit is not too bad, and the look is great. After wearing them for about an hour, I developed blisters, but they fit well after that. I got them today and they seem comfortable and true to size. Despite being a little narrow, these seem to fit true to size and are comfortable.
