Sorry. The grillz are 18k gold plated and appear to be real gold. It is up to the individual whether it appears to be real or not.
What is the life expectancy of the gold ones?
My son does not wear them on a daily basis, so I'm not sure. They haven't, however, turned! He only received them for the holidays.

Even after following instructions on how to do it, the gel fitting is terrible

Very small for mouth as soon as I opened it up a piece was already broken one of the back clamps I tried to see if I could adjust and fit but after hours still not a good fit doesn't fit down on teeth and the gel fitting it's horrible even after following instructions on how to do it caution very very hot gel when it finally melts into grill the shine is great but you can tell after a few adjusting doesn't look like it's going to last at all.

This is a fun costume. Use caution when using the molding gel. It's fine to use warm water, but too hot will cause it to melt and stop working properly.

It's not. It's very sloppy and uncomfortable. However, at first glance, it appears to be in good condition.

It was good, but one of the glue strips that mold to your teeth had a hair in it that wasn't mine, but other than that, I guess it was ok
