There is some padding in the bottom, but it is not overly substantial (which I find to be good). It takes a little while for them to break in, but they're fine. the toe box is roomy and the fit is fine. I am not sure if I would buy them again but they are just right for my purposes right now, and the price was right.

There's something about these cleats that irritates me

My feelings about these cleats are negative. Although they haven't fallen apart, the 3 stars are based on the fact that they are super stiff and plastic-like. There is simply something uncomfortable about it.
