The date in 2020 is April 1 The Gel Excite 2's that I had were getting worn out, so I bought these in their place. These are a size 8 and still fit fine, so I ordered another 8 in this size. Since my old shoes are shorter and felt tighter than the Gel Excite 6, I will return them to return a size 8 pair.
