Why are the numbers different? I returned these boots because they were too large, but I will pick up a few sizes down because I really liked the way that these boots looked and felt. I'm trying to decide between these and the Venturer zip front III, but I'm concerned the others will be just as big when they arrive and I'll have to send them back as well. Though they feel more like suede than leather, they are not cheap to the touch. The reviews said that this is true, so I decided to give it a try. As a woman I wear a size 8 in Ariat Terrains, I figured a size 8 would fit fine here. A size two was just way too big for them. The shoes were way too big for my mom, too. Also, she wears a 9 and they are too big for her. Despite the tag on the box and tongue of the boot stating that it's a US 8, I noticed a number 9 stamped on the inside foot of the boot. There is no way it could be a 6. Even though the sizing is a little strange, the first impression tells me that when they fit I'll really enjoy these boots. The durability has yet to be determined since my riding boots are abused a lot, so we will have to wait and see how long the other pairs last.
