Originally purchased a small, however the sizes are apparently on the large side. I exchanged for an extra small after I found the small too baggy and long for me. I included photos of the small. To give you an idea of my size, I am approximately 5'5". The person is 135 lbs, 5'4", and DD, and he has some love handles and a small belly. Please read carefully
- The skin should not be tight- When I wore this shirt whilst out in the Arizona heat, I didn't feel like my skin was being fried by the sun and I didn't develop a sun rash* - I can dry it very quickly
This long sleeve is incredibly breathable (in 106F weather I didn't even sweat as much as I would have with a plain tank top, in fact I think I sweated less because the fabric dried I am very happy with the purchase, and it makes biking in Arizona surprisingly bearable due to the soft and slick material.
I adore shirts like this. Currently, I have several colors in my collection. Kayaking is the main activity for which I wear them. The first thing I do in the morning is grab a tank top and hit the gym In the morning I use sunblock, but after several hours on the water I change to my long sleeve Columbia shirt. It keeps me cool, even in hot Southern summers, and gives me the best protection from the sun. No brand stays cool or fits as comfortably as this one - I've tried others too The items on this list are not A perfect fit. For reference, I'm a 38DD, size 16. I wear an XL in this shirt.
However, it's not a fabric that is really breathable. When it was 80's in the sun (which unfortunately is when I need it most), it was terrible. Everything was fine when I was working in the shade in the 70s, but it was a nightmare in the 80's. In fact, I soaked it and wore it while walking and it worked just fine (so, if you're looking to cover up for a swim suit, it would be wonderful) but it's just kind of.
I bought two of them for the purpose of running. Despite their lightweight quality, these shirts are anything but lightweight. There are a lot of them. My shirt retains the smell of body odor even after I wash it, which I find very odd. My favorite aspect of them is the sun protection and how they fit.
I liked the large, but it pressed against my armpits when worn. It isn't unusual for someone my height to have this problem, but in this instance it was surprising because I have a ladies' Columbia shirt in large that fits perfectly. As a comparison, I ordered both a women's XL and a men's medium in a similar shirt. The women's XL gave me enough room at the armpits, but hung funny across my chest & back. The arms of the state My shirt was tight in the arms and across my chest, so I kept pulling, as if attempting to straighten away the fabric. However, the medium match was great -- it was true to size and the shirt came out perfectly. Not too large, but not too small. The men's shirt will stay with me, and I will return the woman's.
It is so cute and ideal for days on the boat when you start to feel the sunburn. Simply push it against your body once it is wet and it sits on your skin lightly and cools you down. The only thing I'd change is that I returned the small (my usual size) for the medium because the seams under the armpit area are a little tight. There is still a bit of an odd fit in that area but I am liking the fit a lot more!.
You can keep your arms cooler and safer in the outdoors with this shirt. A good fit was achieved with the torso. Make sure that the fit is not too big or too small. There are a couple of long sleeves in this shirt. As the neck is a little large for sun protection, wear a hat or gaiter with a wide brim. Although it does not dry quickly after being wet, it does wick moisture better than some shirts. Kayaking is my favorite activity to wear it. It's a gorgeous shade of blue.
I am a tall 6'1" 200 pound woman, and the women's large fits me perfectly. The sleeves are a perfect length, and the waist fits snugly. In the future, I plan to order different colors when the price is within my price.
