Selected User Reviews For Oakley Flak Jacket Replacement Lenses
Getting one of the lenses into my Flak Jacket frame took quite a bit of effort. The cut on the mounting tabs was slightly different when I compared them to the original lenses. They're safe and sound now that I've gotten them in. When viewed from the front, the prizm field has a cool red/gold gleam, while when viewed from the back, it has a light rose gleam. I use these when flying model RC airplanes to make it easier to see the planes against the sky and other objects in the background. I wish they were available in the XLJ size because there isn't much of a difference, but it does seem to increase contrast.
I'd read a few reviews where people complained about the Flak jacket frames being too big - For me, it isn't a problem at all. They are comfortable and well-fitting. I've had no problems with the lenses after using them a few times. Everything is crisp and clear, and they perform well as the sun sets and the light dims. It's a tad on the light side when it comes to blocking direct sunlight, but it's still doable. Other polarized lenses may improve sharpness and definition a little, but the Prizm lenses come in second. I would recommend it to anyone who asked, with the caveat that some people may not be satisfied with the level of blocking in very bright and strong sunlight.
I expected it to be more translucent, but it turned out to be more translucent than I expected. I wish it was more reflective, and the photo was deceiving because there is no red/yellow in the picture, but rather purple/red. The 9144 jacket fit perfectly, but it was a little difficult to put on. But, contrary to what other users have said, it is definitely tight. Overall, I'm pleased, though the color scheme may have led me astray. Also, the delivery was excellent.
Because the lenses are genuine Oakley, they are a perfect fit. They are slightly more translucent than I desired, allowing others to see my eyes through the lenses. The vision is sharp and clear.
These were ordered to replace my 8-year-old contact lenses. These lenses are already scratched worse than my 8-year lenses after only 3 months of use and using the same cleaning techniques as the original Oakley lenses. I'm not sure if Oakley's coating has changed, but the quality is clearly lacking. I paid $80 in the hopes of receiving high-quality replacements, but I don't believe they met my expectations.
I've bought new replacement lenses over the years because the old ones have become scratched. I bought these replacement lenses and now have what I consider to be a brand-new pair of glasses for a much lower price. The frames are indestructible, and they never need to be replaced.
This was a replacement for the original lenses, which were neither too dark nor too light.
I returned them because they didn't fit well in my Flak Jacket. They were the correct model and purported size, but they were too big for the frame. Thanks to the seller, I was able to return them without any problems. They appeared to be very sharp, and I was disappointed to have to return them, but I couldn't ride in them because they were too loose.
