am larger than average in size for a woman (circumference 23 inches), and this hat fits me Taking advantage of about half of the velcro of this hat means that I am right in the middle of what can be accommodated by this hat. I have trouble avoiding getting the velcro caught in my hair sometimes because it is quite strong. One of the biggest problems I run into is that the velcro catches the inner brim of the hat when it's rolled Due to this, I am unable to undo the velcro on this hat to roll it up, so instead I added fabric to the velcro so it doesn't catch on anything. (The photo I added shows this). As a result, it is a great way to protect my face from sun exposure without having to worry about my hairstyle or wind causing it to blow away. Unlike a baseball cap, the brim is broad, so it provides a lot of coverage. The clothes I wear are somewhat intentional so as to not look like I'm an old lady, but I do think it works (hopefully! ). Generally, the hat fits my big head, but the velcro catches on the inner brim when I roll it up - I'd like there to be a way to avoid this.
