I was skeptical that this would ship in a bag, but it was well protected with molded cardboard and plastic, and it arrived in perfect condition. I got a large, and it fits well (have a big head). One issue I have with the chin strap is that the small elastic loops for clipping it are defective. As you can see in the photos, there are two small strips that buckle - as you can see in the pictures. As a result there is no place to attach the straps. Even though I could sew the loops closed myself, it was a little time consuming. This post has been updated to reflect a recent change. It turned out that the loops were there after all, but they'd been sewn under that strip of fabric you see in the photo. Using a seam ripper, I carefully removed a couple stitch edges, pulled the free string ends out, and then glued them in place. I like the way it looks, and it feels better than my poorly stitched.

In order to make this product smaller, it has a cheap ribbon inside. I would not recommend this hat if you have a small or average head size.
