This unusual stone, commonly called Saffordite or Arizona Tektite, is a form of VSP, a group of rare natural glasses, including Arizonaites (Saffordites), Colombianites, Healdsburgites, Arizona is home to these rare stones which are found in desert areas near the town of Safford.
These pseudotektites have also been marketed under other names such as Cintamani Stone, Pearl of Fire, and Agni Manitite, which, according to some, combine
Tektites and Saffordites appear very similar in appearance, and the pits and cup-shaped depressions on their surfaces are effectively indistinguishable. It is very dark in the SAPFORDITE until you place a backlight on it. Its smoky lavender coloring, sometimes accompanied by darker banding, is displayed when lit.
A protective display case is included with each authentic Saffordite.

As long as it is held up to a light source, Saffordite appears black.

I am fully satisfied with my purchase. I could feel the power of the stone before I even opened it. Although it seems to be comparable in strength to my moldavite, I would even go so far as to say that it seems stronger.

The item description states that it should weigh between 20 and 25 pounds Upon receiving the piece, it weighed only four grams, not the specified 30 grams. It only weighs 5 Grams, which is not what was mentioned in the description* Very disappointed*.
