It does not specify a specific weight for the tumbler in the instructions. There is a recommendation not to fill the Tumbler barrel higher than 1/2 to 2/3 of the way. When you overfill the Tumbler, the built-in sensor will automatically shut it down in order to protect the motor inside. Further, it recommends getting rid of some of the rocks if this happens. After using the grit that came with these rocks, I did a few batches and found that, although the rocks were smooth, they were not The mineral oil (baby oil) I used did not do the trick. In step 4, I used Aluminum Oxide from another kit, and it was a game changer. In these pictures, rocks on the left are finished with the original grit and rocks on the right are finished with aluminum oxide in step 4 as well. As you can see, my amethyst is clearer on the right and the rocks to the left have a matte finish. The rocks to the right still have that "wet look" and reflect the light.
It was awesome to see the rocks we made, but they didn't shine. I just did some research and it turns out you need a different powder for Step 4. I found some aluminum oxide on Amazon for a very low price in a refill kit and it solved the problem easily. I still really like the tumbler.
My land provides me with many rocks and pebbles, so I started picking them up and letting them tumble. There were some that were fun and cool looking, some of them just looked like My purchase of this refill is a fantastic find, all the gems and stones are excellent. Any type of stone, such as hematite, jasper or rose There are three items included in this kit We have piled up one pound bags of stones and gems, as well as each of the four In addition to an identification booklet, there is a concise instruction manual. The process seems to be pretty straightforward. We provided one package of grit and one package of rocks. We'll need 2 bags of rocks and 2 bags of grit, according to the instructions. It was cool seeing the stones in rough form, but I cannot wait for them to be buffed. The kit is compatible with any tumbler, no matter how big or small.
The gift is for one of my granddaughters who is a year older than me. Cheap ones were available, but I decided to go with the heavier one after considering the alternatives. I have seen a more expensive one that works just as well. Everything turned out great with the rocks! It has been found to be a fun place for her to spend many hours with her rock polisher after I ordered extra sand and rocks. My plan is to help her make jewelry from some of her favorite rocks when she visits me.
My rocks are not cracked or bad, but I have run 3 batches and each time the resulting rocks are small, smooth, and hazy. This is a very disappointing toy considering all the work, the price, and the time involved.
The fact that I have always been a rock hound led me to want a tumbler. Thus, I gave myself something I had always wanted as a reward for my raise. However, the rocks aren't very glossy despite the fact that I followed the instructions. After I bought the ceramic filler and silver or ammonia oxide or whatever it was, it still wasn't as shiny as I was hoping. If you want polished shiny rocks, what do you need to do?.

There is a lot of noise, but each puts them in their basements. There is only one downside to a tumbler, the number of days it lasts (7-10 The goal is 9) to achieve Several of the grandkids became antsy while waiting for results, but enjoyed the experience,.
