Questions & Answers

Do you support a variety of platforms?

The goal of this is to protect the cork on the side of a shoe from rain and dirt. This is not meant to support the arch.

Is anyone else bothered by the smell of the sealer?

I agree! The brush also dissolved in mine, and the smell was awful. The end result was that I simply threw The site should have sent me a new password, so I would have to contact them.

I bought this product for cork but am curious what you have used to repurpose it How do I attach the leather strap and rubber sole to my ?

This is not the correct thing to do. There is no repair to cork with this method. Leather cannot be attached to cork with this method. As far as I know, it does not attach rubber to cork, and it does not attach In its simplest form, it merely seals the outer surface of the cork to PREVENT damage, specifically abrasive wear and water injury. Repairing damages of any kind is not possible with this product. A cobbler or shoe repairer is the best route to take if you need the leather, cork, or rubber to be reattached. Through Birkenstock's website, you can return your shoes within 14 days and get them back in as good condition as new.

What is the best way to remove odor?

Although I realize I didn't sniff the cork before or after using it, I suspect I did do so. It does work well to seal cork so I guess it would also seal odors

It would have been great to know about this earlier
5/5

This product works wonders on all of my Birkies! I'm not sure what makes up the magic elixir, but it's amazing for dog hair. The ones my husband wore were about 20 years old and pretty beat up by the time we finished wearing them. Still, they are wearable to be around in now, even if they aren't perfect. I had to throw out a pair of hose that my daughter had gotten wet at the pool and in the yard. They were in a state of utter failure. In any case, I applied two layers thick. With the second one, I filled in all the divots with spackle. That's a completely different pair of We should still be able to use them for one more summer. As I mentioned, my two pairs of new shoes are relatively new, so I understand how to keep them looking like that. As far as this product is concerned, I plan to apply it annually from now on. I used this to seal the cork in my Birkenstocks and to give them a glossy finish
5/5

A nice glossy finish was left on the cork of my Birkenstocks as well as a thorough seal. Featuring a white formula that gives you a sense of where you put it, a brush for an easy application, and a glossy finish, this product is incredible.

My 20 and more years of use of Birkenstock cork life has brought my old burks back to life
5/5

As recently as last week, I tried to purchase a Birkenstock renewing pair believing it was just a rebrand of the same item. Unfortunately, it was a sealer that didn't meet the need that I wanted that is why I purchased this product. The product works just as I expected it Then I cleaned the sandals up as best as I could, and put two to three coats of cork paint on them, letting the layers dry in between. By restoring four pairs of crumbling sandals to serviceable condition, I helped restore four pairs of footwear. In spite of applying an average of three coats of cork renew to four pairs of sandals, I still have about half the bottle.

The results are great, and the process is simple
5/5

Thank you! I'm so happy! recently bought a pair of Clarks Women's Caslynn Shae cork platform sandals and read some reviews and a lovely woman suggested that this product could be used to seal the cork and protect it from damage. I think this is an excellent In order to wear the shoes, I taped the insole and the nubuck with plastic packing tape and painted the cork platforms. I really like the way they look- A subtle sheen is left on the finished product, and it dries crystal I also like how easy it is to use Because it's white, you can clearly see where you missed any spots, the consistency is easy for you to work with, and the brush comes attached to the lid so it's easy to store inside. Next up are Clarks Women's Palima Palm sandals in white and gold. Both of them have cork soles, so they'll be right after this. Next I will try to make my old Birks come back to life. This bottle will last me To date, I am extremely satisfied with this product, and the results I have obtained with it. I would recommend it to anyone! I have updated the 7/12/16 to reflect the following It looks amazing! Thanks for the Birks and Clark's Palima Palms! Please take a moment to read this Purchased a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones Getting ready for the weekend Multiple cracks have been seen in the cork platforms of my Mephisto Helen sandals. Cork Renew convinced me that I should have bought them instead of buying them without knowing that they could be repaired. Following the instructions on the package, I applied 3 coats of Crack Repair directly to the cracks (allowing 2 hours between coats to dry), then covered all exposed cork with 1 layer of the product. The before and after pictures below show the results. The cracks are so small you can't even see them! It reinforced the rest of the exposed cork as well as filled the cracks. These products are not only protective, but repair and restore as well! The cork becomes waterproof as a result! I wish I could give it 10 stars, because it is magical. The bottle fell over when I turned over the sandal in the same hand as the bottle. So, I'm buying more as I had the bottle in the same hand as the sandal when I turned it over. I'll make a note to myself This doesn't look as good on the shoes, don't do it again! don't need to tape off your There is nothing soft about the brush, but it's stiff enough for easy maneuvering. To remove any that end up on the upper or outsole, just wipe it off immediately after.

BUY NOW AND SAVE! You can extend the life of your shoes by wearing cork soles! In my experience, this is the best cork sealer I have ever used (and it's also among the cheapest)
5/5

It goes on smooth and dries clear, doing the job it was intended to on Birkenstocks, Häflingers, Stegmanns, and other high quality cork foot beds. Using cork seal on shoes extends the life of the shoe and allows you to wear them in the rain. I wear cork soled shoes all year long in the rain in Seattle, and I must say cork seal makes a significant If the seal eventually wears off, one bottle should last for at least 10 pairs of shoes (or for redoing the same pair of shoes 10 times). It is not difficult to greatly extend the life of your very costly cork soled shoes with a very small investment in time and money. If you use this, you'll be glad you did. If the shoes are brand new, I recommend applying two coats (letting the first one dry in between). In the future, check the cork every six months or so to see if it needs to be recoated. Make sure the cork isn't too dry or dull by applying a second Milky when it goes on, but dries clear when it dries. It is actually a plus, as it makes it easy for you to see where you have already applied the item.

The cork in my long standing Milano Birkenstock sandles was broken, so I bought this product to fix it
5/5

I highly recommend it. In my search for information on how to clean and restore cork, I stumbled upon a youtube video that showed me how to use this product. The same sort of technology is used when building Birkenstock sandals and I have a pair of Milano sandals I've had since Recently I noticed that my cork needed major attention and sent them away to be repaired once before a couple of years ago. However, I didn't want to have to send them away for repair again or incur the expense of having them fixed again, although I strongly believe that having them professionally repaired is worth it. I think one can do quite a bit themselves as there is so much information and knowledge shared on youtube videos. Anyway, I digress. Following the directions provided by the manufacturer and people in the videos, I applied this product to the cork. As soon as I applied the first coat, I noticed the difference. There are three coats on the cork and all of them have totally sealed it. There is evidence that the sealant has actually restored the surface. I will return to this later. There was a section on the Sandler that appeared to be damaged and deteriorating. Today, that part looks strong and does not display any signs of weakness or degrading. It's sealed but it's very solid and holds strong to the point where it has made the cork outer part that was falling apart hold together again and to the point where it is holding very well. The repair was done competently, in my opinion. My experience with this product has been very positive.
