My order was placed in December 2018 and I received it in January 2019. Yes, there is a hole in the lid's center. The hole is covered by a clear sticker. The packing slip was examined. There was no mention of the hole or sticker. I'm assuming we keep things as they are. Kiwi could give us instructions if he wanted to. I'm not in the mood to call their customer service, so I'm going to keep mine at home. Shoe polish won't work in the garage because it's way too cold.
On the side of the can, there is (or should be) a small handle. You can open it by twisting this small handle, which lifts the top.
If you're not sure, look it up on the internet.

The metal piece that opens the lid was the first to break. But what was even more aggravating was that when I opened the polish, it was cracked into four sections, dry, and flaked all over the place. I'm still trying to remove the stains. AND IT DID NOT POLISH MY SHOES AT ALL. I'm devastated and disappointed.
I bought it because of the low price and ease of use. excellent shoe shine.
The price of this polish is reasonable. It costs around $7 in local stores. These products dry out and crack, as I've seen in retail. The product in the can can be heard rattling around. This item arrived in clear shrink wrap and was tightly sealed. This can did not rattle at all, and I believe it is a new product. My husband's supply was running low, so we bought this. I have yet to open.
Black [5 oz] I've been using Kiwi polish on leather shoes and boots for years and have always been pleased with the results. The polish works well on areas of the shoe that have been scuffed or partially worn away, such as the toes, sides, and above the heels. It's a soft paste that goes on smoothly, the color penetrates nicely into leather, and then buffs off easily for a deep shine. A little goes a long way, so even with frequent use this 2. I'll be good for a while with this oz tin.
The quality of the Kiwi line of products simply cannot be compared.
This is something I used to do when I was in the army. Now that I'm in the American Legion's honor guard, my boots will shine.
When we opened it, the polish had dried out and crumbled. It wasn't worth the gas money to return it to a drop-off location.
You can make your boots look fantastic if you use the right techniques. Filling the cracks in your boots is extremely important.
