Questions & Answers
Although it is water resistant, it is not completely waterproof. It protects the leather from water stains, but it isn't as effective as Mink Oil at providing total protection.
A dye is required when attempting to restore a coat. I've done it before with dyes, and it's not difficult; leather dyes are made specifically for this purpose, and they come with an applicator and clear instructions. If you use show polish on your car doors or anywhere else where it rubs, it won't last long. If you're having trouble with the color of your leather, you're probably not conditioning it properly. Bicks 4 conditioner is needed in a large bottle. It's also very simple to use.
No, it's a dark color.
It applies smoothly and has a nice finish. br>However, the standard works just as well.

I tried it on my shoe (the can) and found that, while difficult to balance, it "fit as expected" as long as I didn't walk. The small can would drop off as soon as I started walking. Keep in mind that when I applied the paste from the can to my shoes, the black color adhered to them like shoe polish. Awesome.
When compared to regular kiwi, this polish has a softer paste-like feel. More than parade polish, it produces a high sheen. It keeps the mirror shine on my medic boots for days and is more durable than parade gloss or Lincoln.
KIWI shoe polish has always been a favorite of mine. This KIWI Select, on the other hand, I believe, does a better job. I have a pair of Florsheim Black Loafers that I've never been able to get to shine. It's a higher-quality shoe than my Bass loafers. Nothing is now manufactured in the United States of America. It's such a pity. My shoes did shine after using this KIWI Select, but the Florsheim shoe's leather is of poor quality. This polish proved to be beneficial. They are now gleaming.
I've been using this polish for years, and it not only gives my boots and shoes a beautiful shine, but it also extends the life of the leather. The oils in the polish keep the leather on your boots and shoes soft and comfortable. I've tried it on leather-bound books with the same results, and my pocket Bible is still as gleaming and flexible as the day it was given to me 50 years ago.
Uncle Sam advised me to use Kiwi when I was in basic training. Always have, always will, always will, always will, always will, always will, always will, always will.
It's all good. It's a huge step forward from the usual Kiwi fare. Easy to spread paste for a good repair/shine job; worth the extra cost.
If you only need a quick shine, it works fine, but it doesn't seem to last very long.
I bought this to try to extend the life of an old pair of shoes, but I was blown away by how well it worked. br>br>The shoes are dress shoes with leather uppers that are fairly expensive. They're a couple of years old, and I haven't looked after them well because they're more of an everyday office shoe. However, after a few polishings, the leather looks fantastic - Although not brand new, this office shoe is good enough to be promoted from everyday to "trying to impress someone" office shoe! I'm quite taken aback by the difference in appearance.
