Is the IR treatment on this spray? Is infrared going to pick this up?

I'm not sure if that's true; it doesn't glow under black lights, as far as I'm aware.

Is it possible to use yhis on suede?

Yes, I sprayed my suede boot shoes, and the next day, I sprayed them again. The treatment had no effect on the color. If I'm caught in the rain or snow while wearing them, I'll be more at ease knowing that they've been treated.

Is it possible to use this on regular nylon jackets?

Not sure about nylon jackets; I bought two of them but threw them away; I tried spraying my leather and canvas shoes twice in 24 hours but it didn't work; I tried spraying my leather and canvas shoes twice in 24 hours but it didn't work. You are welcome to try it, but do not purchase two cans.

If used correctly, this stuff is very effective
4/5

I'll admit that the negative reviews of this product have perplexed me, and I can't help but wonder what variables were overlooked when people said it didn't work for them. Is it possible that they sprayed too lightly? Is that it? Only one coat? Before spraying, did you make sure the item was completely clean and dry? I've been using it on our hiking boots and REI rain jackets for years (I discovered about a year ago that the waterproofing they add wears off after a while and didn't want to spend $60 or $70 on a new rain jacket when I could waterproof it myself for less). It's done an excellent job. I start by making sure the item to be sprayed is clean and dry, then apply two heavy coats, allowing at least 24 hours for each coat to dry. The only reason I docked a star is that it's a highly toxic substance that requires me to hold my breath while spraying. Also, one bottle does not cover as much ground as I would like.

Only ONE can was available to me
3/5

I like the product, but it bothers me that the listing says "2 Count" in several places, but I only received one can. "2 Count" appears to me to refer to two cans of spray, or two of the product. I will not purchase from this seller again because it appears to be dishonest.

5 stars for a fantastic product! So for the past 5 years, I've been using this to seal my Colman 6 person Sundome tent
5/5

I apply an even coat to the entire tent, as well as a thick coat to the seams. I've never had water seep through the fabric of my tent. This usually requires one and a half cans. br>br>I also coated my 10x10 awning on the spur of the moment before a camping trip. When I arrived at the campsite, one of my friends had forgotten their rainfly. If it had rained, they would have been soaked because they were in a dome tent with a mesh top. I offered them the awning that I was using at the time. Unfortunately, I brought the wrong awning frame, and the fabric was very loose when we put it up over their tent, but it was better than nothing. br> br>br>That night, it rained heavily. I didn't get a drop of rain in my tent, but when I awoke the next morning and looked at my awning, which was over my friends' tent, there was over an inch of water pooled on top of the loose fabric in places, but it never leaked into their tent. After that, I was sold on this product and gave it 5 stars!.

Pay attention to how you clean your shoes
5/5

From my Army days, I learned that the best way to break in a new shoe is to rub it vigorously with a medium rough rag (washcloth or denim scrap). Then, according to the spraying instructions, apply 3 - 4 coats of paint. 2 coats of paint on top of 4 coats of paint on top of 2 coats 3 days. Clean previously worn shoes thoroughly (with saddle soap and water), allow to dry, then buff with medium soft rags and spray according to the directions. 2 x 4 3 days. These procedures have yielded excellent results for me. Clean after each wear, buff when dry, and spray 2 - 3 times. Over the course of two days, three times. Allow time for the fabric to dry before re-wearing. To get the best results, alternate between two pairs of shoes so that you don't wear the same pair twice in a row. I've found that this method extends the life of my shoes by at least 2 1/2 times.

Excellent for use with military boots
5/5

On my leather duty boots, which have textile panels on the insides of the arches as well as on the shaft, I applied three coats. I was out on a call tonight in a torrential downpour, standing in water that flowed up and over the toe/side of my boots, and not a single drop got inside. I can't speak to the longevity of the application because it was by chance that I even had the opportunity to try out the fresh coat, but I will likely reapply every 6 months or at the first sign of moisture getting inside.

Amazing
5/5

This spray was used to keep a heavy wool trench coat waterproof. I couldn't get the coat wet after it had dried for a day. It simply rolled away from the water. Despite this, the coat remained flexible, and I did not detect any odor. I expected no discoloration because the coat was black, and I was right.

I've camped twice in heavy rain and can happily report that neither time did I encounter any water
5/5

We purchased one of these about a year ago, and then another this year. We've used it to cover an entire tent as well as a screen house's roof. Having camped twice in heavy rain, I can confidently state that no water was able to enter the areas where we sprayed this. Because the walls are screens, the screen house must have gotten wet inside! However, the area directly beneath the roof was kept dry.

performs its function I use it on all of my shoes, boots, and tents
5/5

As directed, apply two coats. Use in a well-ventilated area because the odor is quite strong. When the smell is gone, it's gone for good. 2- 3 days. It won't make something waterproof, but it will make ventilated fabric extremely water resistant.
