Is this a functional lock or is it just for show?

The lock is real, and unlike most other boxes like this, it comes with two keys, not just one, which is a big plus. I think it's well-made and I like it a lot.

How big is the space inside?

4x5 is an option. You'll need to line it with felt because it has a strange odor.

Do you think chess pieces will fit in it?

Yes, it depends on the style of your pieces. It was a tight squeeze, but I was able to cram all of my Ds in there. You should be fine because it has D dice in it.

It's stunning! I needed something to store my everyday jewelry, but it couldn't be too big or tacky. With a length slightly longer than my hand, this box fits the bill perfectly. It doesn't take up a lot of space on my dresser, but it is 4-inches long. With a lined bottom and a tightly closing lid, it holds everything I need to access regularly and is 5" deep and wide. The key works, despite the fact that it appears to be more for aesthetics than functionality, as locking it appears to be a moot point. At least, that's how it is in my world. In any case, it's a lovely, functional box with nice, but not overdone, detail. It's ideal as a present!.

I have a gift to give that I'd like to present in a nice, lined box. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality, which far exceeded my expectations. I expected a flimsy, mass-produced box with a shaky lock. However, I was completely incorrect! This box is stunning, with intricate carvings and a high-gloss varnish finish. My lock is perfectly set and functions flawlessly.

This was purchased as a gift for my wife, and the craftsmanship on the box is outstanding. The lid and base corners were perfectly aligned, and the hinges appear to be in good working order. The lock was a little off, which could cause issues, but we are happy with it because we didn't buy it for the security, but rather for the looks and ease of use. It looks good on her make-up table and fits some of her more commonly worn jewelry nicely. up your vanity This does not appear to be as cheap as you might expect from a tourist trap, but don't expect antique quality. It arrived in a well-wrapped package. I would buy this as a gift or even another box for my wife in the future.

I was dissatisfied because I did not receive what I had paid for

I was very excited to receive it after reading the description because I was purchasing it as a gift. The only reason I bought it was because I thought it had a working lock. That was not the case. I'm not sure if it's faulty or not, but it's not locking at all. As I previously stated, I am extremely disappointed because it was a gift, and I purchased it for the locking feature. br>At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.

I bought it as a gift but later regretted it

For our gift exchange, we set a limit of $30. This was a few dollars more than I wanted to spend, but I thought it would make a great gift. It's definitely past its prime. priced. I believe the key is made of cheap plastic, and it is extremely small. I could have gotten a similar chest for a third of the price at ROSS DRESS FOR LESS, but I didn't use it for the gift exchange because it didn't represent the money I spent on it.

Leg is broken

I read in some of the reviews that this item was delivered with a broken leg, but I decided to order it anyway, assuming it was a fluke. However, one of the legs on mine was broken when it was delivered. It was more convenient to glue the return and wait for the next shipment to arrive. It's well-made for the price, but the fact that it's not long-lasting is a disappointment.

This box has a really nice look and feel to it. The outside detail is exquisite, but pay attention to the dimensions; it's a small box that can only hold a few trinkets. In addition, the key is a little flimsy. It's a low-cost lock set with a key that looks like a standard thin brass diary key. Still, it's a lovely box. On my bookshelf, it's a nice addition.
