Questions & Answers

Is this boot being used by UPS delivery drivers? Do you have any ideas?

I work as a UPS package driver in Nashville, Tennessee, and I've met a lot of country music artists and celebrities over the years, including the Governors. I don't have this brand, but I'm debating between this one and this Wolverine waterproof 5" hiking boot. I've been wearing Wolverine boots since the early 1990s, with some Red Wing and Timberland thrown in for good measure. Tblands have also proven to be an excellent boot for me. I've never owned this brand before, but I'm on the verge of trying something other than Wolverine: a 6" waterproof boot with a composite toe that will last at LEAST 2 years and stay waterproof. Although the Wolverine hiker lacks a composite toe, it appears to be a "cool" boot for your feet. I'm thinking of getting these closer to winter and wearing my Wolverine hikes in the summer. They're both lightweight and water-resistant. I always have two people with me. There are three pairs of wkboots on hand in case disaster strikes in someone's yard. I'd like to hear your thoughts on these boots if you bought them after reading this post. Thx bro

Is this a good place to go fishing?

These boots are fantastic. Waterproof and very comfortable. On a fishing trip, it should be perfect.

Is this boot suitable for long-distance daily hiking over a long period of time? For a month, walk 15 miles per day. Is it able to support you adequately?

I bought it as a work boot, so I'd say no. I'm from Texas, and I used it for hydroseeding. My feet stayed dry enough thanks to the boot. It only lasted a season. It has the feel of a tennis shoe, is light, and provides good support, but I'm not sure if it would hold up to the amount of miles you're looking for.

Are they slip-resistant in a prison kitchen with tile that is extremely slippery when wet?

They are, as far as I am aware, slip-resistant. When others would fall, they would help me to stay upright. No shoe will ever be 100% slip proof, so caution is still required.

I had a Christmas gift card, and these were on sale, so I bought them because they were a good deal
3/5

The height was not specified in the description; I prefer 5 inches. These have to be around 7 inches long. With the side zipper, this doesn't work because you still have to untie and loosen the laces, defeating the purpose. I have Bates 5" zippered boots, which are very comfortable and didn't require any break-in time. In fact, I wore them for a ten-day trip to Asia, and they never rubbed me the wrong way despite all of the walking. Aside from being too tall for the zipper, the soles are not slip resistant on wet rock or tile, which we have a lot of around here, such as Enchanted Rock. In Asia, I slipped on a rock as well, though I'm not sure what it was. If you're going hiking with these boots, keep in mind that they're slick in wet weather. Also, I'm not sure how well these will hold up to heavy use hiking or rock climbing; they appear to be a little light for anything too demanding. So, yes, they're comfortable and fit perfectly right out of the box. These are fantastic if you're light climbing or hiking in dry weather. If you prefer boots with zippers so you don't have to untie laces, or if you'll be hiking in wet conditions, these might not be the best choice.

IN JUST ONE WEEK, THEY FELL APART! 🤬
3/5

They've only been a week and they've already started to fall apart!! The inside liner is loose, and I can't glue it down because it will no longer be waterproof. I'm beginning to see why people refuse to buy products made in China! I understand if you want to cut costs by having your factories in China, but if you're going to sell a lower-quality boot, sell it for a lower price; my last pair of Bates lasted me over a year at the same price point. I'm guessing they're from MURICA! BatesAndSwitch is a website where you can find information about BatesAndSwitch and.

The Velocitor's second pair
5/5

Over a year ago, I bought my first pair of Bates Velocitors. I have a lot of issues with my feet, and I've had problems in the past with other, more expensive boots that required physical therapy. These boots are extremely comfortable and have proven themselves to me on a variety of surfaces, most notably concrete, which is notorious for causing severe pain due to repeated and prolonged standing/walking. I'm a woodworker who spends a lot of time in my shop (which has a concrete floor). These are ideal for this type of project. These boots may not be your first choice for this application because they are designed as a tactical boot, similar in construction to a high-end pair of athletic shoes, rather than severe service work boots. I also do small-scale logging, operate my own sawmill, and do tractor work. However, I will continue to use these boots for my work because the benefit of "pain free" or reduced pain outweighs the fact that my first pair were worn and torn to the nub by the end of a year. My first pair cost around $120 at Academy; these now cost a little more, but they were on sale for $84 on Amazon, so they were a great deal.

Rather than asking questions, simply purchase them
5/5

After trying dozens of boots, this is the most comfortable one yet. It's as if you're walking on air in these shoes. Being on my feet all day can be exhausting when I have plantar fasciitis. I haven't had a single foot problem since purchasing these boots. I'll wear these if I know I'll be doing a lot of walking (especially on concrete or asphalt). I have wide feet, so I have to buy wide shoes most of the time. The velocitors used to be wide enough to fit without being uncomfortable, but the newer models have narrowed for some reason. They're still very comfortable, so it's not a deal breaker, but it's a letdown. I also have a pair of 511 boots. br>br> I like that they are completely waterproof, but they do not breathe and are extremely hot in the summer because of it. My feet do not sweat in these velocitors because they are cool. The tread is excellent and the sole is extremely grippy. The base of the sole is a little wider, which adds a lot of stability. The zipper glides through the material without catching or separating. br>br>Con: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place The only disadvantage (aside from the newer slimmer design) is that they are difficult to shine simply because of the toe design. The toe is wrapped in a rubber sole. The benefit is that they are less likely to tear at the toe and are therefore more durable. Shining, on the other hand, is a little more time consuming. Obviously, this is only a problem if you use them in a setting where they must remain tidy, such as mine. As you can see, this had no effect on my star rating because I could never give this product anything less than five stars. Overall, these boots offer the durability, stability, and support of a boot while also providing the comfort of a cushy running tennis shoe. I've had my first pair for a few years now, and they're still in excellent condition. I bought a second pair to wear outside of work (so I wouldn't have to worry about keeping them shined and such), and I went with the desert (brown) color.

I'm hoping this isn't the start of a downward trend in Bates' quality
3/5

I've had several pairs of Bates combat boots, all of which have proven to be extremely durable, so purchasing another pair was a no-brainer. However, after only 5 months, both have split at the fabric-to-leather connection points. It appears to be more of a design flaw than a manufacturing defect. Obviously, I would not recommend these to anyone who uses them on a daily basis for work. They were also terrible in any wet grass, to put it another way. In less than 5 minutes, your feet will be completely soaked, and they will take a long time to dry out in the sun. I'm hoping this isn't the start of a downward trend in Bates' quality.

The size is insufficient, and the quality is poor
3/5

I wish I could give this boot a perfect rating, but I can't: br>Because I'm a big dude, I ordered a 14W boot. ) I'm not sure who designed the upper portion of the boot, but my size 14 foot will not fit into the size 7 boot top. I ended up cutting the lining down the side of the upper to make room for my foot, but it's still difficult to get the boot on. br>br>The zipper came apart on the sixth or seventh time I wore them; they're about a half-inch wide. The notions of "wide" and "small" are both false. I can't express how dissatisfied I am with this boot, so I'll just leave it at that.
