As a result, I'm quite large. I'm flat-bottomed, and I despise it when my thighs rub together! I needed something to combat the dreaded chub rub, look somewhat flattering, and not ride up, so I went with board shorts. Thank you, Amazon, for stocking these skirted swim trunks. An added bonus is that they make your butt look good because they don't have the unflattering panty lines that other swim skirts have. They are well-fitting and attractive. They're a little longer than I expected, ending just above my knees, but since my legs are the least attractive part of my body, I don't mind. I'm also short (5'1"), so if you're taller or have longer legs, they'll likely fit differently and be shorter. I'll be reordering these on a regular basis. Even just for the comfort factor, they are well worth the money. It's just an added bonus that they're attractive.
I got the blue one because I'm trying to make my gym clothes more modest, and it's perfect! I was worried the color would be too bright, but it's cute and true to the picture. There are leggings inside, but the skirt covers and goes to the knee It's a good fit (medium for me, 4'11 129lbs) there's a kind of white lining in the inside on half of the skirt, so I can't tell which part is the front or back will update with pics when I get a chance.
The material does not appear to be too thin to me. I like how there are longer shorts underneath to cover the thighs, and it doesn't matter if the swim skirt comes up while swimming because there are only shorts underneath. I'm 5'6" and 125 pounds and usually wear a size 10, so I went with the medium, which fits well and is snug (but not too tight) around the waist and thighs. When I tried them on, I was unable to fit into the small size. I'm not sure how much this will stretch out over time, as other brands of swim shorts do, but I've washed them seven times with no problems and have never dried them. I don't think this skirt will run as big as some others. You might want to order your usual size as well as a size larger, then keep the larger size and return the smaller one.
However, I wore it this past weekend to go swimming at the lake, and it didn't stay up. I have a large backend, and it still wanted to display a plumber's crack, which was disappointing. My father, who is a plumber, found it amusing, but I did not. I'll keep wearing it for non-swimming occasions and get a new skirt for the pool.
If I ever needed another one, I would buy this one again. They run a little small, in my opinion, so go up a size. I bought a large because I am 5'8" and 150 pounds. My only criticism is that they could be a smidgeon higher in the waist to cover my mom bod (I'm 14 months postpartum with baby 1 and 5 months pregnant with baby 2).
I adore this swim skirt; I wore it to the beach for the entire summer season and never had to worry about accidentally exposing my private parts to strangers. The color stayed on for a long time. It didn't spit out any of its contents. I swim at the local pool once a week, and the skirt is holding up beautifully.
I used it today to swim a mile in the lake and then kept it on for a half-hour trail bike ride. I'm going to the beach tomorrow after washing it, and I'm planning on wearing it all day (back and forth between the beach and the house where we'll have a barbecue). It's both comfortable and quick-drying, so you won't have to change clothes throughout the day.
I'm a ten-year-old girl who wears a size I'm a size 12 and bought a large, so it's true to size, and the longer shorts underneath are perfect! Just what I needed for my cruise! Good quality fabric that wasn't too thin but wasn't too bulky. I'd suggest it.
