If you want a little loose, I would go up a size, especially if you plan on drying them. Since they're cotton, they will shrink if you do. they're a great pair of shorts overall - I went up a size and they're so comfy
There may be a large crowd. They stretch out a bit so I kept both of them, since I bought one of each size. It was better for me to choose the large. The height I am is 5'9" and the weight is 170 pounds

Denim shorts are the only thing I have worn since having kids but these look the best - they make my legs look thin, but still have room to move without being baggy or tight.
Although I am a size 14, there can be major differences between my size and the size in some places. It was a bit bigger than expected but they still fit nicely!
