The medium was too small for me, the large would have been better, but I am 5'5" and it is just below my knees, so it is mid-calf Thus, it may take you longer to complete the task. I like the dress very much.
A measurement of the whole dress shows that it is about 3'11" long from shoulder to fringed bottom. My size is extra small, but I am still a medium. Although the size changes with time, I am not sure if the length changes as well.
It was too short and to small for Ashton. The attachments at the bottom of the dress were longer than I wanted, but the slip itself was too short for me. One of the previous reviews was correct on that aspect. There is a lot of gorgeous beadwork on this. Although the zipper was of excellent quality, I was worried I would need to reinforce it since I sew and we are used to seeing faulty zippers in budget dresses. If you want a size comparison, I am 5-foot-5, 180 pounds, 38D. I liked the loose fit, which wasn't too baggy, and did not interfere with the curves of my body. It just blows my mind.
This dress is so beautiful! In my case, the extra large fit well, and I am typically Having a matronly sort of build, I wanted a looser fitting (more 20's style) shirt that would fit over the problem spots. What I got was exactly what I wanted! As my dress had a bit of cling, and also just seemed to be matronly, I added some tummy control undergarments.
