I was in desperate need of a belt like this, but couldn't decide between this and Silver Lilly, so I bought both. If I had to get another, I'd get this one because it has a thinner buckle (3/16" vs 5/16").
This is how I'm going to solve my problem! I carry my weight in my thighs and buttocks, so I have to size up in pants to accommodate those areas. This often results in the waistband gaping open in the back, and I spend the entire day tugging at the waistline to keep my jeans from falling off. My husband bought me a thick leather belt, but it's difficult for me to open when I need to remove my pants (it's one of those Mission belts), and it's not stretchy, so I have to cinch it pretty tight to get it to hold my pants up, and then it digs into my abdomen all day, making me uncomfortable and sometimes causing digestive issues, as well as causing a huge, unflattering bulge under my shirt. br>I got so frustrated that I Then I came across this belt, which is the ideal solution to my issue. I was concerned that the buckle would be too flimsy, but I've been wearing it every day for several weeks and have had no problems.
I had ordered a "Square Buckle Plus Size" in denim blue, and when they realized it was out of stock, they promptly shipped me an "Original Buckle" in denim blue, as well as two additional "square buckle" belts in various colors, all at no cost to me! To compare, I bought the BeltAway, Jelt, and Infinity Belt. In general, I prefer the BeltAway. br>br>Pros: This belt is true to its name: it is completely flat. It's also adjustable, which is great because my waist size fluctuates a lot and I despise wearing a tight belt; it's also sturdy and well-made. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The buckle is still clumsy and, like a regular belt buckle, pokes me when I'm sitting down. I wish the belt had silicone grips on the inside to keep it from riding up my belt loops. br>br>The photos I've included show how the Belt Away looks when worn, as well as a comparison between a regular belt and the Belt Away when worn under a shirt.
Mine was hard to open and close, so I returned it! To begin with, I'm not sure why this belt has received so many positive reviews! This one was already open on one side where the red tape is (the other side was partially peeled off) when I bought it in white, along with two others from a different brand. I'm guessing I got one that was returned by someone else for whatever reason. I tried each belt on to make sure it fit properly and that it was easy to open and close. I tried and tried to untangle this one from the way it was received until I finally gave up. I'm not sure if I got a 'bad' belt or if they're all identical. I couldn't get the belt to unhook so I could try it on, no matter how hard I tried. This is being returned to Amazon, and I've since purchased a white one from one of the other brands, which works well and fits well. During my search for this type of no-show belt, I discovered that many of them are identical in nature but are marketed under different names. I can't say that all of this company's belts are the same as mine, but I wouldn't recommend it based on my personal experience - There are so many more on Amazon that are not only the same type but also about the same price (give or take a couple of dollars) and work just as well (so well that I just ordered more colors from Vanstart, I believe that's the name of one of the good ones) and open and close with little to no effort!.
Oh, my goodness, I adore this! It's very flat and comfortable, and it's very easy to adjust; I have some pants with a higher waist, so I need it tighter, and for lower waists, I simply loosen it. I was concerned about some of the negative reviews, but I've been wearing it for months and it's never come undone without my intervention. Also, some people have mentioned it popping out of the belt loops or something similar when using the bathroom, but I think that would require it to be extremely tight! br>br>10/17/17: br>br>10/17/17: br>br>10/17/ So now that I've been wearing it for a while, I understand why people complain about it coming out of the belt loop when they go to the bathroom, but it's only on one side for me and never enough to be a real issue. This is still one of my favorite things.
