3X I ordered a 2X and it was too tight and bulky for me.
It's fine to go overboard on length. 5'10" is my height. I like it
My husband, who is 5' 10" and 185 pounds, has a 42 chest as well. The medium would be the best fit for your chest size; however, the tails may be a little longer for your height. I hope this information is useful. This is absolutely stunning!
It's best worn as a jacket over a long-sleeved shirt with French cuffs.

In addition, the fabric has a solid feel to it. It's only flaw is that it's extremely tubular. Because it doesn't reach the lower torso, it feels a little baggier. However, once you add a few safety pins, it's fantastic!.
I go to a lot of ren faires and buy a lot of costume, so I can attest to the fact that this item is of exceptional quality, which surprised me. I purchased the black one in a large size. It fit me perfectly, even though I am 6'3" and 240 pounds. br>br>We'll see how well the items hold up over time, but at $45, you can't go wrong.
I bought it to use as a costume, but it turned out to be a high-quality item that isn't costume-worthy. The garment is fully lined with rayon and has solid stitching. Because it lacks a mid-section, it is quite thin. In colder climates, it might not be enough to keep you warm on its own. It is important to note that both rows of buttons must be pressed. I was worried because I never seem to be able to find anything in my size, and then BAM! I'm going to buy some more!.
For the price, the waistcoat is of excellent quality, but the sizes are extremely small. I usually wear L to XL in US sizes, and I wear a 46 jacket and 36 waist pants. It's double breasted, and the button holes for the far buttons reach about to the first set of buttons on me, so I figured a 3XL would be fine based on the chart. As a result, I was able to take off the other buttons and wear it as a single-button shirt. breasted (unexpectedly, it all lines up nicely) - Alternatively, I could lose about 40 pounds. However, having a brocade waistcoat that doesn't end at the belly button and doesn't look like it was made for a senior prom is fantastic. If you can get the right size, it's a good investment.
I adore this piece and wear it all the time! It fit better than I expected (it's a very square cut, but some tailoring would cinch in the waist and improve the fit). The piece I received had a few flaws, such as stray strings and a couple of spots that looked like they were about to unravel. It was fairly simple to correct, but I hadn't anticipated it. In general, I'm pleased with my purchase.
Gilderoy Lockheart was the inspiration for this costume. Medium as seen on a 6ft man. It looked great right out of the box. For a costume, it does not have a cheap feel to it. For a real formal event, I wouldn't call it high-quality - For that, it's a little thin (and there are a few loose threads).
