The advice was to buy one size up, so that's what It's an error. I think the first thing you need to know is that you don't need to do this. I wear a size 32X32 pant usually. Many reviews stated that the 34X32 runs small, so I opted for that size. Below is a photo of a pair of banana republic 32X32 slim cut pants that I wear all the time. As you can see, the waist is bigger - it's called a "pantyhose" in banana republic. As for the measurements, BR pants measure 34 inches for a 32 inch size, while the Tommy Hilfiger pants measure 35 inches for a 34 inch size. Since they are Trim Fit pants, they are not supposed to be cut as tight as other pants. It is meant to be that way. This is probably not noticed by most consumers. There is no doubt they are large in my waist, but they are truly large in the legs and long in the length. slim fit pant, on the other hand, is supposed to cinch in the hips. There is a full 2 1/2 inch gap along the leg, meaning these pants are very baggy and loose. Therefore, the pants are 2 inches too long because the crotch is two inches lower. As the inseam of the pants is 32 inches, but pants sit at your waist when you wear them, so lowering the crotch would result in the pants being 2 inches from the ground and they would look like bozo pants. There is no Trim cut to be found. Standard cut items at best. Since there is no time to return them and replace them with a different size, I am going to have to alter them.

I wear a 44L coat and have a 35-36 waist If you wish to avoid going to a tailor to have alterations made to a utilitarian suit (this is a very nice wool suit, but don't fool yourself if you believe this is a $6,000 Brioni suit), this will be the perfect weight for you. For example, I would need my pants hemmed and taken in if I ordered a 44L suit with a standard 38" waist. How much more are we going to spend? I just need to unpack them and they fit perfectly. These pants have a 30" waistband, so if you plan on tucking a shirt into them you may want to consider having a wider waist since they come up to 30". When you tuck your shirt into the pants, you may find them a little tight.
