Questions & Answers
Their measurements were spot on. I wear the same size as everyone else, and the one I ordered was just a "tiny" bit too big for me, but I like it that way. In the Boonie, I would order 7 5/8" without hesitation. If they get wet and then dry out, they will shrink slightly. Mine is fantastic, and it is of the highest quality. They're a lot better than the ones I wore in the Marine Corps. I hope this has been of assistance. John
Although it is rainproof, it is not completely waterproof.
Gracias, el sombrero es muy bonito, y el camuflaje es muy bien definido.
I'm not sure if this will help, but I usually wear a size 7 and 3/4, so that's what I ordered. It was too big for me when I first put it on. I do a lot of my work outside, so I get a lot of sweat. It shrank slightly as it became wet from sweat and dried. I hand washed it and let it air dry after noticing this, and it now fits perfectly. I recommend ordering your normal size, but don't worry if it's a little loose; just wash it.

I've had about ten boonie caps in my life; I bought the black camo style and couldn't figure out why it looked strange, but then I realized why the hat looked so comical. I've never seen a boonie cap with the rungs reaching halfway up the hat's peak. It appears to be ridiculous. The rungs usually meet at the point where the peak and brim meet, but when you put this on, the rungs are about two inches down, with another two inches below. It resembles a vintage western hat with a lot of embellishments. I was disappointed, but to be fair, the photo depicts the hats exactly as they are in real life. I guess I just didn't expect them to be that way. Some of the other models do not have it, so check before you buy.
Note: It is a 50/50 Nylon and Cotton blend (which is exactly what I wanted) rather than 100% cotton as it suggests. I haven't put it to the test yet, but it appears to be adequate, and the chin strap toggle is also satisfactory. Without the strap, it fits snugly enough to stay on your head in a light breeze. My only complaint is that I wish there were snaps on the sides to keep the brim from getting in the way when shooting a bow.
Because the brim was larger than advertised, I sold it to someone else for half price (losing money). I have boonie hats with large and large brims, but when I bought it, it was supposed to have a smaller brim. Aside from that, everything is fine. The low score is due to the brim size being misrepresented.
I never got to try on a size 25 in Scorpion because it appeared to be worn and had animal hair inside!! I've had it with trying to buy boonies! br>br>I'm a size 7 in shoes. Since boot in 93, I've been at number 5! I have a lot of boonies, but this is the first one with the number 7. It's a 5, but it's a bit sloppy. I can get my hand between my head and Bonnie, but even a slight breeze would blow it away. br>br>Upon closer examination, I discovered that the brim seam is overstitched. That's a disaster in terms of quality control! I'm going to have to return this boonie and try again, which is a shame because the color pattern was fantastic!.
However, there is one recommendation. Down here in southern Florida, I get pretty deep into it. This hat has undergone extensive testing and has proven to be excellent. It dries quickly, the material and stitching are of good quality, and the small vent holes help with the humidity. I mount my headlamp on the webbing that wraps around the hat and it works great. br>The only thing I think it needs is button clasps on the sides of the brim to keep the brim in place. I'm debating whether or not to include those. br>This is a fantastic hat and a fantastic purchase. particularly when they're on sale.
It's superior to Rothco. Not the 100% cotton as described in the description in the description in% The Rothco hat isn't as good as this one. Internal map pocket, thicker material, and better construction Rothco is a chaper construct. The hat is made up of 45 percent nylon and 55 percent cotton. not 100% cotton as described in the description in the description in I bought mine a size up because I'd heard they shrink a little with wear and washing. (UPDATE: Two cold- It appears that water rinses will cause it to shrink, so I'm glad I bought a large size. ) I'm using it for scout trips, fly fishing, and other outdoor activities, particularly on hot sunny days or when only occasional rain is forecast; I believe these are water "resistant," but may not withstand torrential rain.
The boonie is exactly as described, and it was delivered on time.
This hat is ideal for going for walks and other outdoor activities that require sun protection. The hat's wide brim gives it a lot of coverage. However, there are a few drawbacks. One, the webbing above the brim is excessively high, and stands out in comparison to other boonies on the market. It's not going to work. breaker, but I was immediately aware of it, especially when it was on my head. Second, they aren't designed to be particularly breathable. On a hot day, your head begins to get quite warm, and the side vents aren't always sufficient to keep up with the heat. Walking in the sun can quickly turn into a sweaty ordeal. Also, don't tighten the strap clip all the way down or it will fall off. It's not difficult to reattach it, but it's inconvenient. Resistant to water is satisfactory. I was caught in a decent rainstorm while wearing it, and while it did a fantastic job of keeping the rain out of my eyes, it became saturated fairly quickly (at least it kept my head cool). Drying it out, on the other hand, was a breeze. A moldable wire in the front brim is a great way to keep the front of the brim from sagging in wet conditions if you're even remotely handy with a sewing needle. This hat is good value for the money.
