Questions & Answers
They are very accurate in their sizing. This one is a "tiny" bit oversized, but I prefer it that way. I wear the same size and ordered the same one. If the Boonie is available in 7 5/8" I would not hesitate to order it. Getting wet and then drying them out will cause them to shrink a little. It's 5 star quality all the way. I'm totally in love with mine. It's better than the ones I wore when I was in the military. Here are some suggestions to help you. A. J.
Rain and splashes are protected, but it is
The size I ordered for me is a 7 and 3/4. I'm not sure if that will help, but that's the size I wear. I initially found it too loose when I started wearing it. My job requires me to work outside and sweat a fair amount. It shrank slightly as it became wet with sweat and dried. It was loose in the first place, so I hand washed it and let it air dry, and it fits perfectly now. I would suggest ordering your normal size, but don't worry if it is too loose, just wash it.
There are no differences between the new standard issue pattern and this one. You cannot do that in AR except when authorized by your commander or if you are on a deployment/in the field.

This note applies The fabric is a 50/50 blend of nylon and cotton (which is what I wanted) and not 100% cotton, as the label claims. Although I haven't actually tested it yet, it looks the same as a real chin strap. The toggle on the chin strap also seems good. This hat barely fits without a strap, but is just snug enough to stay on your head in a light breeze. It would be nice to have snaps on the sides to hold the brim out of the way when shooting a bow when wearing it.
Normally I buy hats with wide brims, but when I bought this one, it was supposed to have a smaller brim. Other than that, it is a good plan. It received a low rating because the brim size was inaccurately advertised.
It took me awhile to figure out why my boonie hat sounded ridiculous. I finally figured it out. I've owned about 10 boonie caps in my life. I bought the black camo style and was amazed at how weird it sounded. In all my life, I have NEVER seen a boonie cap with rungs that go halfway up the peak. The absurdity of the situation is beyond belief. On this cap, the rungs are about two inches down, and another two inches below it. Normally, they meet at the peak and the brim, but you put it on and it has the rungs about two inches down and two inches beneath it. Like an old western hat, it has a lot of decorations. Unfortunately I am not impressed with the hats in the photo, but it does show the real way they look in real life. I guess I never expected the hats to be so dirty. Look carefully before you purchase because some of the other models do not have it.
My Boonie fits as expected, it was delivered on time and it arrived in good condition.
The Rothco hat is good, but not as good as this one It has a map pocket inside and is constructed of a thicker material. Often referred to as a chaper build, Rothco is a premium There are 45 nylons in this hat, 55 cottons in this hat. Unlike what is described, not all cotton is made from cotton. The ones I purchased were a bit large, as I had heard they shrank a little after wearing and washing. Update (VIDEO A cold and a cough I bought a bigger size since it is predicted to shrink after washing under water. I use it for camping, fly fishing, and other outdoor activities on sunny days or when only occasional rain is forecast. They believe they are water-resistant, so they may not stand up to torrential downpours.
That's the only suggestion I have. Down here in southern Florida, I get into it pretty thick. Tested and proven to be great, this hat is the real deal. It dries quickly, and the material and stitching are of high quality. The few vent holes help reduce the My headlamp can be mounted on the webbing around the hat using the webbing. The only thing I think it should have are buttons to hold the brim to the hat on the sides of the brim. It's probably best to add them The hat is great and the purchase was great too! This is especially true.
When you're out for a walk or in other situations where you need protection from the sun, this hat is excellent. This hat has a wide brim that provides excellent The only negative aspect is the price. Two, the webbing above the brim is unnecessarily high and is noticeably higher than other boonies available on the market today. It's nothing to worry about - The ball was a breaker, but I noticed it almost immediately, especially when I had it in my hand. The second reason is that these aren't built to breathe well. It is common for your head to get pretty warm on a hot day, and the vents on the sides aren't always enough to keep it cool. In the sun, even a short walk becomes a sweaty and uncomfortable experience. You should also be careful not to adjust the strap clip all the way down, as it will fall It isn't difficult to return it to its normal state, though it is annoying to do so. There is no issue with water resistance. As I wore it, I was caught in a decent rainstorm. While it did great at keeping water out of my eyes, it got quite saturated fairly quickly (at least cooled my head off). It did not pose any problems to dry it out. You can keep the front of the brim from sagging in wet conditions by using a moldable wire in the front of the brim if you're somewhat handy with a sewing needle. The hat is a good buy for the price.
This is the seventh one I bought. For myself, I bought a 5 in a size that was perfect. Accordingly, I measured the head of my wife the same way I measured mine. I purchased six. Despite my wife's attempts, I was unable to get a finger between her head and the hat as it was so tight. It cost me $5 in return to exchange for a larger size, but I am OK with that because there is nothing flimsy about these hats and the quality stitching is good. Please keep in mind that the smaller sizes will fit differently if you are ordering for your wife or children. I think they are great hats in general.
