Questions & Answers

Is the aiEs true to size?

I'm 6 feet tall and weigh around 200 pounds, so they aren't. I bought a large from a brick and mortar store that didn't accept returns because it was way too big. I ordered a medium on Amazon, but it was still too big, so I returned it and exchanged it for a small, which fits perfectly.

Is it warm and does it come with a liner?

A full liner is included in the package. It's colossal and will undoubtedly keep you warm.

Is there a removable indide jacket liner and a rain hood included with the jacket?

Yes, there is a detachable liner included with this jacket.

Is there a hoodie in the collar?

There is a hood included. The hood, which tucks between the outer layer and liner on the back, is accessible through a zipper hidden beneath the collar. The collar will not become bulky as a result of this.

It's good, but it's not as long-lasting as U
3/5

a field jacket is issued This jacket fits identically to my issue field jacket (which I received in the 1990s while serving in the US Navy as an FMF Corpsman), but the outer shell of this jacket is noticeably thinner. It's not only thinner, but it's also rippier. While walking past a door, one of my jacket's pockets became caught on the doorknob, ripping the pocket down one side several inches. The same thing happened to me once with my issue field jacket, and instead of ripping the pocket, it actually stopped my body from moving. I've repaired the new jacket and will continue to wear it, but I won't be getting another (and this one will most likely not last as long as my issue jacket). In a year, I'll most likely be looking for a tactical jacket that is overly complicated. Kitanica appears to be in good shape at the moment.

Although it completes the task, it lacks authenticity
3/5

Because I did not serve, I can only draw conclusions based on what I've seen and tried in army surplus stores that sell authentic or used field jackets. br>br>Like Horse Shoes and Hand Grenades, this jacket from Rothco comes close but falls short for what I need it for: It's enough to be close. If you want a true authentic or close to it, you'll have to pay twice as much for an Alpha Industries Field Jacket, or find genuine issue surplus (or used) at a great price. Given that the real deal (of which I am one) does not come in fat butt sizes. Rothco or Alpha are probably your best bet (I like to call it aerodynamic). br>br>Minor revision: This jacket was eventually purchased by me from Alpha Industries. Rothco pales in comparison. After playing with the Rothco version for a while, I can confidently state that it has flaws and areas where the craftsmanship is severely lacking. There should be no reason to have to repair a pocket that isn't properly sewn. you know. to fill the hole that isn't supposed to be there Sooo. a tad off the mark.

Rothco is nothing more than a brand name at this point
3/5

The vendor was extremely helpful. The seller isn't the target of this complaint. Rothco, the manufacturer, is no longer what it once was. The jacket was a little too big and boxy for my liking. Okay, that's possible. Genuine M65 jackets, as well as repros, replicas, and jackets made in the United States, have all been in my possession. Golden, as well as Rothco in the past, This one was not as good as the others. Worse, the velcro on the cuffs and around the neck was completely ineffective. The velcro on the neck closure could not be used by a human. It was just one small square placed so far away that you'd need a squirrel's neck to see it. This is simply shoddy workmanship with no regard for quality. I will not purchase Rothco in the future. I don't write many Amazon reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in order to save someone the trouble of returning a jacket that doesn't work properly.

Nearly identical to the original, but made of thinner and less expensive materials
4/5

I've had a Golden Mfg. for a long time. I've had one since 2009, and I'm now 65. Mines that are still operational today. Because my shoulders have grown wider, I only needed a large. It's an excellent replica of the original. br>br> The materials are thinner, and I'm concerned about the outer shell's long-term durability, but I'm willing to give it a chance. In terms of stitching, it's not quite up to Golden's standard in terms of stitches per inch, but as long as the thread holds, I'll be satisfied. The only major flaws were the spandex hood and the absence of eyelets for the waist drawstring. Around Thanksgiving next year, I'll give an update on my longevity.

Excellent Price-to-Quality Ratio! Because there aren't any 6 stars, I gave it five
5/5

The only criticism I have is that the arm length is slightly excessive. That's all there is to it, everybody! This coat is very nice. I couldn't believe the quality for the price, and it made me feel like I was back in the armory when I put it on. Heavy-duty zippers and snaps are used to secure the bag. Hip pockets that are quite large. The hood is lined and of excellent quality. The liner doubles as a separate jacket! Even with the liner in place, it's big enough to wear over my BDUs. This is designed to be layerable, but it's heavy enough that you won't need to. Keep in mind that this is not a parka, but once the liner is removed, it can be worn as a heavy winter coat or a light jacket in the south (I live in Oklahoma). So it's very adaptable; it's not ideal for colder climates, but it's perfect for fall and winter in the south!.

This is a fantastic Digital Camo Jacket
5/5

I've been on the lookout for an M-. I had been looking for a 65 jacket at a reasonable price for a while and then came across this one with a discount. I usually wear an XL, but I went down to a large and it fits perfectly. From what I can tell, the quality of this jacket appears to be good. The zipper is strong and easy to use. You can't go wrong for under $50. Before they're all gone, get your hands on one of these.

In a bad way, it's hot and heavy
3/5

This jacket was purchased as a fall lightweight jacket. I felt like I was wearing chainmail when I put on the jacket, which was heavier than guilt. This jacket was well-made and, based on the stitching, appeared to be very long-lasting. However, it was also scorching hot. The tiger stripe camo was one of my favorites, and I appreciate Rothco's commitment to authenticity.

If you believe you are purchasing a genuine military surplus jacket, be cautious
3/5

I admit that I attempted to save a few dollars by purchasing a "knock-off" M-80. My original jacket, which was 30 years old, was replaced with a 65 jacket. I could tell it wasn't the same as soon as I put it on. The pockets aren't quite as deep as the original, and the jacket isn't particularly water resistant. The real kicker is that wearing the hood in the rain will quickly soak you. The rain flap is 25% shorter than my original jacket due to 25 poor design. As a result, rather than allowing water to run down your back and off your neck, it funnels it down your back. That's a complete waste of time. I'm going to stay away from anything made by Rothco from now on. It's cheap because it's made in China, but it's not worth the money in the end.
