Pros: In the cold, the quilted lining of this stylish jacket keeps me warm; In extremely cold weather, this would not be feasible. Side pockets that are quite large. Zipper is very strong. Sizing: I'm 5' 8" and weigh 190 pounds, so size L is a good fit for me. You'd need a size XL or larger to go above this.
Cons: I didn't notice or realize it had a hood attached, but it's fine for keeping my head warm. However, because the hood lacks a drawstring, it easily slides off my head and is easily dislodged by even a slight breeze. A drawstring would have been a good addition. It's not difficult to fix: I drilled two holes in the hood's double lining, threaded a string through it, and pulled a 36" shoelace through; now I have a drawstring to keep the hood in place. I would have given it five stars if it had an integrated drawstring.
The jacket has a nice appearance, fits well, is light weight, and is significantly warmer than similar jackets. When I'm out running in the winter, I like to wear a light jacket that isn't too bulky but warm enough to keep me warm down to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. That's exactly what this coat has accomplished. I haven't worn it in temperatures below 10 degrees F yet, so I can't comment on how well it will perform. The hood is light weight and adequate for blocking light wind, but it is unlikely to keep your ears warm during a blizzard, and there is no drawstring on the hood, as others have pointed out.
I was doing a lot of traveling for work, so weight was an important factor. This jacket was an enormous success! I could fold it up, roll it up, and strap it to my carry-on backpack. It did a great job of protecting me in the 20s, with "winter mix" falling on me, when it was unrolled and shook out. It kept me warm even when it was wet. This jacket is perfect for when I'm on the go and want to keep my weight down.
It's referred to as a bomber jacket, but it's actually more of an outdoorsman's jacket. Light hunter's jacket is the type of jacket you're looking for. Surprisingly good craftsmanship and a pleasing appearance. But I'm worried about the heat because it's so thin, and I'm also worried about how rainy it is. Is it really that tough? The jacket's price seemed arbitrary, as it ranged from $27 to mid-$40 depending on size and color. I chose a low-cost option so that even if it disappoints me, I've only invested a small amount of money. If I'm happy, I got a good deal.
Initial thoughts: In my opinion, it is a stylish jacket. For how light it is, it appears to be a reasonably warm jacket thus far. Despite the -, it kept me quite warm with just an insulated sweatshirt underneath. 350 miles per hour of wind Today has given me the chills. This is my second coat from this company, and the first one is one of my favorites. That coat has seen me through four Midwest winters and I haven't had a single complaint.
At 5xl, I'm a big guy. This coat is extremely comfortable to wear. I was taken aback by how light it was. When the weather cools down, I'm looking forward to wearing it.
FYI - The jacket I ordered was way too big for my teen because the sizes are definitely more on the "American" scale. I'll see if I can get a replacement, and I'll update my review based on my experience trying to get a replacement jacket that fits. Although the jacket appears to be well-made and comfortable, I gave it a four-star rating because my teen has yet to try it. Comfort and long-term durability are rated on a scale of one to ten.
It's a fantastic jacket with a great look to it!.
