Yes, it is a Terry cloth that absorbs well! I was looking for something similar to your question. Even though I only needed 3x, I got this extra extra large to curl up in after a shower. I absolutely adore it. It is, however, a LOT of weight. This isn't a flimsy Terry cloth from the dollar store.
Shrinkage is a thing of the past. These robes are so poorly constructed that they fall apart after a few washes. This happened to me, as well as a lot of other reviewers. They also make it difficult to get your money back!

I ordered a size 4 sizes larger because I wanted something a little more substantial. I've been dissatisfied with the robes I've been receiving, and I'm not sure why these were so small and large. A LOT of times, I went for large! This is fantastic because it is warm, it reaches the ground, and I can wrap it around myself multiple times. It is, however, extremely cozy. Instead of using cold delicate and air drying, I washed it for the first time in hot water and dried it on a high setting for this material. I believe it aided in its shrinkage. I didn't think to put a white cloth in there to see if it would bleed, so I can't comment on that. But it's been great for taking my Riddick out to potty in the mornings and evenings, and even though it's been cold, I've avoided wearing a coat. It's well-sewn and has a good surge. There was only one spot on the cuff where Riddick's toe nail caught a stitch and pulled it out. And, believe it or not, the price was fantastic! I recently purchased a new robe for around 15 dollars. 00 more, and it began to shrink and bleed. This is an outstanding offer. I'll most likely buy another, but in a smaller size, and I hope this has been of assistance. Thank You.
robe is excellent there is still room for improvement I wish KingSize or someone else would make a THICKER material robe because this one feels "just barely enough" and the stitches haven't been put to the test yet. I have one from another discontinued brand that isn't quite as big as this 4XL one, so I got this for the extra fabric to wrap around me after a hot bath without my bits poking out and frightening the gentry. There's a lot of drape and overlap in the front, so you can lay down with your knees apart a little. Overall, a good value, but make the front panels a few inches wider for even better "retention," especially in the upper chest area (they slide with only the tied belt to keep them in place), and work on making the pockets have a more natural positioning at the sides (they're too close to the center to function casually). Handwarmers were inserted (which made the pockets wider and deeper, I suppose). Consider the pockets as beginning at the side seam and extending about halfway to the center. opening on each front panel and then a little deeper to keep a spare 357 and a pack of smokes safe from falling out. This is KingSize, and sometimes all a King wants to do is put on his robe and carry his belongings. Make these kingly and deserving of their title! br>So, yes, thicker, deeper-seated material. from the outside- For a more luxurious, enveloping fit, the front panels have been given a tad more width per size.
The robe looks great when it's brand new, but it doesn't wash well, revealing more of its poor quality with each wash. My wife bought me another in Stripes because I liked it so much the first time. It, too, was poorly constructed, and BOTH have now been returned. It's hard to believe that KingSize sells this and isn't aware of how poorly it's made, but maybe Amazon will reconsider selling such shoddy clothing?.
I ordered it in a large size to ensure that a couple of features aligned: br>1) A waist belt that wrapped around my hips rather than pressing against my irritated lower back. br>2) Pockets below the belt (rather than being bisected by it) br>3) Pockets in a convenient location for holding phones while seated - Thank you for not experiencing any strange abdominal noogies as a result of my hardware! I'm a big guy who wears a 6X in most cases. The robe is soft and cozy but still thick and heavy enough to keep you warm, even when running trash to the road in an Iowa winter.
The material is a little thinner than I had hoped, but it appears to be of excellent quality. I didn't notice any sloppy sewing or seams or loose threads. My not-so-innocent self is encased in the robe. without making me feel as if it's a close call The belt/tie is long enough to keep out of the way of the pockets. The hood has a lot of room and depth to it. The sleeves are long enough to cover my wrists without obstructing my fingers. (I'm 6'3"/340 pounds and ordered a 2x/3x Tall size. ) The construction appears to be sturdy, with a good heft to it. It reaches almost to the tops of my feet in length. br>There were a few customer service issues that I didn't like, but overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others.
Amazon finally came through for me after five years! Because of the cost, it was a difficult decision, but I know it is an investment in his comfort that will last for many years. When he's sick and out of the shower on a cold winter night, he uses it. I got it in black, which he likes, and he is very pleased with it. Customer is overjoyed.
