I ordered the shirt half an inch smaller at the neck than usual to test the flex collars. Getting a hold of the top button is difficult, and the top button fits snugly. It is evident that this shirt wrinkles more when washed when compared to other wrinkle free/easy care shirts. Overall, this shirt works well for business casual attire. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is.
Van Heusen shirts are a great value for the low-price but I've always worn them at work because they're stylish and practical I usually wear poplin fitted shirts with regular collars, however I decided to try the regular fit flex collar shirt after I gained a bit of weight. When I first received the shirt, I was unsure how well it would wear, but after wearing it for several hours that view changed. As you can tell, the collar does not flex much, is rather scratchy, and seems to hold sweat like nothing else. My face was now very sweaty and it was also quite raw by the end of the day. This regular fit shirt was pretty baggy, even though the rest of the shirt was of a good quality material. It is light and provides excellent breathability, just not as big or fitted as many other Van Heusen shirts I have worn in the past. There are huge arms on the shirt, and the shirt would fit another person just fine on the sides. It's not easy to move around, as I am a big guy (6'0" 300 pounds) and it's hard to fit into Shirts size 5 and 36/37 fit me well. My shirt back was so loose I had to tuck it together just to keep the front of the shirt looking neat and tidy. Luckily, I have shirt stays to hold my shirt down. If not, it would balloon like no other garment. Although I was quite pleased with my previous Van Heusen shirts, I am slightly disappointed this time since the shirt does not fit as well as my previous Despite a few issues with the collar, I can't really complain about the price.
