Mike, I normally get a medium size at 5 11 and about 230 lbs but I'm planning to buy a large for the holidays The large in this jacket would have allowed me to wear a hoodie underneath comfortably, but it turned out I didn't need to! A story about the X-factor I loved the large coat that had enough room and fit perfectly even with a hoodie! If you are comfortable in your regular size, I suggest you stay with it. Initially it seems stiff due to the weather-proofing materials, but it never feels that stiff after it's been worn. In any case, a couple of washes should loosen the material and make it feel even better, and it doesn't fade like traditional black coats, so it's a win-win!

It is my pleasure to provide construction services throughout Alaska. I have been living and working here for nearly 40 years now. Since I've been skiing since I was 5, I've purchased many different brands of clothing, hoping to stay warmer than the last jacket/pant *BR>When temps drop below - 20 F, I rely on RefrigiWear With temperatures about 20° below zero, the Carhartt gear would be useful. It seems like my latest purchase was not a good move. The jacket combined with matching pants is much lighter in weight than my previous purchase. The first thing I wondered was, "How can I possibly stay warm with such lightweight gear?"? . . . there's no way I can trust a few of those 5 star reviews these days, so I figured the paid reviewers cheated me. ". It fit perfectly and had a great look at the same time The pants matched the top but were a little long before washing later, they were perfect. There is a lot of noise coming from the material when walking/moving around, as other people mention. I am sure that everything will quiet down as soon as they break in. I like the zippers. They work well, but they drag a little. After using zipper lubricant, there isn't a thing to drag. Whenever I use a zipper, I lubricate it. There is a vast difference between the two. WD-40 or other automotive lubricant or oil should not be used because it will stain, smell and ruin your tiles The material should be broken down. If you want to know how I know, ask me. Since we haven't seen any real cold weather to comment on, I can't state how well this combination will work in nippy weather or wet damp Winter gear has become lighter and more lightweight, and should keep you warmer with improved insulation materials. As much as I hope this jacket/pants live up to Carhartt's reputation, I actually do not know. My last set of jackets and pants is almost 10 years old & I cannot find one I've still got a few more years left in me. The weight I lost was quite significant & I live a more healthy life now The clothes are too big to fit. The review will be updated once the cold weather kicks in. In the present, I will not recommend this combination of jacket and pants.
Illinois can reach into the 80's in the winter, so I live in During the winter months it can get as cold as 10 degrees, so a really warm jacket was necessary. A heated jacket was really my dream so I purchased a particular heated jacket made by a renowned Wisconsin tool company. My anticipation turned to disappointment when I soon discovered it did not hear As a result, I began searching for a warm jacket, but I got rid of the idea of a heated jacket in favor of a super warm insulated one. As a result of my search, I found reviews on this jacket, and I couldn't wait to get it. Since I am 5'11 and 145lbs, I decided to get the Small, which fits just as well regardless of whether I wear base layers (which are not even required). When I wear the jacket zipped up in a car, it sometimes feels as if a collar is around my neck. I have already seen it soften after just a few months of use, and the stiffness is just a part of its Since the material is so strong, it can stand up to scratching, so I think my cat can use it as a scratching post without causing any To make an outer layer more durable, I believe steel would be the best material. It seems impenetrable to both wind and weather in terms of warmth. There is no cold wind coming in from outside so no matter what the temperature outside is, it is still warm and toasty inside. As a result, I've never worn a warmer jacket. I can hold my arm out of the car while driving in 10 degrees F and neither does the material inside the sleeve get It seems like the insulation is made from It has two inside chest pockets, one zipped inside the right chest pocket and the other Velcroed inside the left chest pocket. Despite being buckled up, the exterior lower pockets are at the perfect angle for me to reach in them while still attached to my seat, and are deep enough to prevent items from falling Furthermore, there are two Velcro pockets on the outside of the chest that appear to keep the contents dry if it were to snow or One complaint many have is that the zipper is not tolerable. When I wore it for the first time, I didn't The problem hasn't resurfaced with many uses later. I'm not sure if I got better at zipping it up or it looseened and became easier, but either way, I no longer have difficulty zipping it up. This is one of those double zippers that allows you to zip up the bottom zipper to make sitting easier they are always a little more challenging to open. As much as I like the jacket, I'm considering getting the overalls in the same style. My recommendation would not be as good for people who live in a warmer climate or who intend to perform strenuous activity since they are likely to sweat more In a nutshell I've never owned a jacket as nice as this and I believe that I will have it for a long time.
It is warm and well made. Initially, I was attracted to Cordura fabric because it seemed to be very tough but also very abrasion-resistant. Although the jacket is best used in dry weather, it is still best suited to cool ones. It looks good, but it's waterproof but the bottom pockets have no zip or flap, so the snow or rain clogs them up.
In bad weather you end up walking around like a fish with bulging water bags in your pockets. I will be returning it and getting a Carhartt Sawtooth Parka #102728 in its place.
It's uncomfortable, too many issues, and it hurts my The pros are Embrace the warmth. The cons are Please note - Separately from the jacket, you must buy the hood. A $20 charge would be added Thirty dollars. Additionally, some hoods don't fit all jackets, and I wouldn't know which would fit this coat unless you could tell me. My two questions have been answered differently by Carhartt support. Instead of just including it like every other coat/jacket on the planet, why not include it? Please note - A zipper that is difficult to get on and off is a real nuisance. There should be no reason for me to lose time getting to work because my zipper wasn't Please note - I dislike the neckline. It's built like an XL, so a big patch of Velcro atop the zipper gets in the way of my neck the whole time I am wearing it. It took me a few days to realize I had poison ivy on my neck because I thought I had poison ivy after wearing it the first time. It is almost impossible for me to wear a coat like this without a neck covering. Please note - I'm in a world of pain. The material makes me feel like I am wearing a Having worked with Carhartt for a long time, I can attest that this is highly unusual for them. My usual reaction is to be delighted by.
I have worn Carhartt clothing because of their quality, fit, and design for years, so when I was looking for a new jacket for the cold weather I chose this. A couple of washes and fabric softener made the coat perfect. I paired it with the Carhartt Men's Yukon Hood (which really should have been included without charge) and, after the wash, added extra waterproofing with Atsko Silicone Waterproofing Solution. It is called guard Even in frigid weather, so long as I move around, it's plenty warm for me. Work outdoors is comfortable and easy in this shirt thanks to its gussets and the fit is as anticipated. The design looks good as well. This is all- I am very pleased with my.
