STYLE - The signature red hang tag "Remove Before Flight" on the utility pencil pocket on the sleeve and the Red Alpha Industries logo on the zig-zag zipper extension show off your personal Patches of the NASA logo are located on the chest and sleeves. The cuffs, collar, and waistband of this jacket are knit rib cuffs and collar, two pockets on the lower part of the jacket, two pockets on the interior, and shirred sleeves.

Form & Function - A reversible flight jacket made from water-resistant nylon on both sides of the zipper. As a continuation of the original design, the interior of the MA-1 reverses to an Orange Emergency Liner that was designed to signal for help when a pilot is downed.

THE MA-1 flight jacket is designed with a slightly roomy fit with extra room in the body and sleeves. At waist length, it sits just above the hips. In mild or moderate temperatures, this can be used as a layering piece.

The outer shell is made of 100% Flight nylon. The lining is made of 100% nylon, while the filling is 100% polyester. The only way to clean is with dry cleaning.

The jacket I got at Kennedy Space Center was stolen. As soon as I got home, I immediately went to Amazon to see if I'd been You'll get a bit of a discount here on Amazon, so take that into consideration. It is a wonderful jacket, and I am very happy with it. I expected it to be much lighter, but it's much heavier than I ever imagined. A jacket like this would be perfect to wear during Chicago's "warmer" A 3x fits perfectly with my guy's 6'3" height and a healthy 250 pounds. The size 2x he normally wears is usually his. Having sleeves that are not long enough is a problem, and the 3x will solve this issue. It looks to me as if the smaller sizes run large, and the larger sizes run small based on other reviews. The patches on the jacket and the "Remove Before Flight" tag make the jacket stand out in his opinion. has the look of an official jacket instead of looking like a souvenir, and that's what he appreciates In addition to the NASA pins on the fabric lapels, he was able to get the zipper pull, also from Kennedy, which stated "Failure is Not an Option. This is the gift I bought for my son to celebrate his When he went to see Logic in Dallas, he loved the jacket he was wearing. This is the exact jacket he is wearing. It's been too hot in Texas for him to wear it, but he says he can't wait for the weather to cool down. Quality is the hallmark of this jacket. The zippers are smooth and there are no loose threads in the lining. I can't see any flaws. Despite his hardwearing nature, the patches are securely sewn into his tee shirts and it looks as if it will last a long time. In his case, the sleeves fit just fine. I know the shirt is supposed to sit at the waist, but if you are taller you may want to size up since the shirt will ride up if you move about in it.

Although the jacket was comfortable and beautiful, the American flag on it I don't know if this was an accident, as it does not appear to be upside down in the pictures, or if it was done intentionally, Flags that are upside down are extremely offensive to some, and I'm not looking forward to eggs being thrown at people. The only choice I had was to return it, so I am pretty disappointed.

A similar jacket is available at the Kennedy Space Center. It's thick and feels durable like that at the Kennedy Space Center. Neither the outside nor the inside of the pockets are small enough for small items to fit. Wearing an extra layer is not necessary since it is very warm. This is one of the best jackets I've ever owned.

My first stop was the Alpha Industries website to consider whether or not to buy it, however they did not have my size, so as an alternative, I went to the most trusted and noted seller. Also, my size wasn't available, so I figured that an XL would have to do as it's most likely going to be one of those jackets where you need to get a size up. It was correct I needed to order a size up as this fits perfectly in size XL. In three days, it showed up! It looks very nice on me and the patches are of high quality. In the small size, I am 5'8" and weigh 113 pounds. A pullover like this is the kind you wear if it's too chilly for a coat but not cold enough for a sweater or hoodie. Likewise, you don't have to do much layering with it. It will look nice with whatever you wear indoors like a long sleeved shirt Top with plaid or a long sleeve shirt.

There is no regret in taking the leap! This is worth every penny of the investment, if you're trying to decide whether it's worth it. Despite being warm enough to wear in winter as well as fall and spring, it is light enough to wear all year round. I have had quite a few people ask me if I work for NASA, as it looks quite official! I served in the military and he was a huge nerd for science and NASA. His expression spoke volumes, and I could tell that he really enjoyed the experience! The jacket was like the flight line jacket he was wearing in the navy, if anything, even better quality! The boy has gawked at it all day and said he can't wait for it to get cold so that I definitely think it's worth it.
