The stiff leather shoulders protrude

I like the vest, but it's made of stiff leather that I don't care for. Because the leather is so stiff, the tops of the shoulders protrude excessively. I'm hoping it softens and relaxes over time. I like the look, but I was hoping for something a little more delicate.
