It is true that the jacket is cut a bit large for layering, as it is described as such. The size I ordered was a large, the usual size for me. The large ended up being returned and I ordered a medium instead, and the medium fit better than the large. The shirt is still roomy enough to wear a thin vest underneath and it fits me better now. The jacket is a good quality and warm enough for most days, but not too warm for very cold ones.
