Questions & Answers

What is the waterproof status of the boots?

In terms of the leather itself, it has no additional "Snowseal" treatment, but it does come with a gusseted tongue, meaning that the boots are waterproof, assuming you don't jump in

Can you tell if they are ?

There are not any lines on them

What is the slip resistance of these shoes?

There are many deep grooves on the soles, which are not made of leather. As a result, the soles are better than the old ones from Iron Ranger

An 11 would be the size I usually wear. I want to get these boots in size 5, but I'm not sure what size to get?

I've even gone down to 1. I think 5 is fine. The size is reduced by five. You can still wear it if you go one size down.

The deck of the ship feels like a wooden block when walking on it
3/5

There will be no One and only. Firstly, I must confess that I have been on the search for the perfect boot/shoe for quite some time. It was an easy decision for me to buy the Red Wing Heritage solely because the shoe looks stunning, and it came with the history and "Red Wing" name to back it up. My nose was filled with the smell of fresh leather as I took the shoe out of the box. It is clearly made of genuine leather and of excellent quality. The quality of the product cannot be denied. It was a bit heavy and stiff, but its brand new so I did not think anything of it. I now have a complaint to make. One of the things I dislike most about this shoe is the fact that there are no insoles The shoe has a built-in sole. Considering that it is leather, it will need to be broken in, and based on what I have read, a genuine leather boot will not have an insole One and only. There's just one problem it makes for an extremely It seemed to me that the hard impact and discomfort I felt when wearing this shoe was caused by it needing to be broken in, but after a month of daily wear, I've pretty much given All I wish is that they had included a link to the in-depth commentary One and only. There is no doubt that the boot is of exceptional quality If the shoes cannot be walked in, then what is the point of wearing them? In spite of a month of walking on a wooden block, I still feel like I'm in a trance.

It was great to put on these boots after a week of vacation- The pain is intense
4/5

Although I usually wear a size 13, I ordered this size down as it suggested, and even though the initial fit was snug, it was not uncomfortable, and the toe box had plenty of room for me to wiggle. A thicker pair of socks works just fine for added comfort, I found. After breaking them in over 20 miles, I can almost forget I'm wearing them, except for some bruising on one of my big toes where the upper toe box crease has not yet developed. There's just a little more to go. These boots have only two issues that I have with them There was a large smear of shoe glue on the leather that I had to spend a good 10 minutes scraping off without damaging it out of the box when they arrived. A second issue is the boot tongues do not match each other There is almost an inch difference in the length of the tongue in the right boot and the left boot. The goofy asymmetry would be enough to warrant returning this item for many people, but as I almost always wear my jeans over my boots, I think I can live with it. Although I understand that these are hand-made in the USA, and that human variances should be expected, for $300 you would at least expect that the tongue lengths would be comparable given that the leather is cut from the same templates.

These boots are awesome
5/5

A UPDATE was made on May 26, 2018. The shoelace on the left boot finally gave out. I didn't make any jokes about the waxiness previously mentioned. A few of the shoelaces were not as good as others. However, they can easily be replaced with new ones. Although I will need to polish them again, the boots seem to be at their most comfortable right now (though they could use a polish) After only a few weeks, my foot leather has molded to my soles very well It has been worn daily since it was This is still a boot I would recommend. The original was It's hard to find a better pair of boots. I expected they would fit perfectly. The first time you get them, they are really stiff, but once they wear in, they become quite comfortable. It's a fairly good quality shoe, except that the laces are really waxy, relatively short, and generally tricky to tie safely. The shoe will last for a long time and I won't have to purchase another pair for a long time. Well worth the investment. You should note I have attached photos that show what I have been wearing every day for the past week.

I like these boots so much! It is a wonderful pair of work boots and I took them hiking without any problems on rocky terrain
5/5

I ordered a Full size down and the fit is wonderful. This is my go-to pair of shoes now. As for the leather, it is a lot rougher than the leather on the Red Wing Spitfires, and if I could reorder these, I would have chosen It was the ability to treat them with anything that caused me to choose the spitfire. Using beeswax, oilskin mixture, etc. The duck back dressing I applied worked perfectly! It is a little uncomfortable to break them in at first, but well worth it after a few weeks. They are really a pleasure to wear after a few weeks. Even after a long day of work, they conform to the foot well and look sharp. This will not be my last pair of redwings! My first pair of redwings, and I can honestly say it won't.

Those boots are great! The color is a bit lighter Red wings tend to run a half-size bigger than most other wing types
5/5

It was the briar oil slick that I ordered. As I mentioned earlier, I was expecting them to be a dark, rich shade of brown, but it was a bit spotty and lighter than I Although it isn't a large deal, I did use a light coat of Red Wings leather conditioner to bring out the deep reds. This model seems a bit supple in comparison with my Iron Rangers, and its soles feel soft and cushiony. During my first day wearing them, I walked around downtown Disney and did not experience even a single blister. Keeping an eye on these boots as they age makes me so happy. I highly recommend this book! Below are photos highlighting the boots' color before (at top) and after (at bottom) the conditioning process.

I love these boots
4/5

When possible, find a store where you can try the item on. I love these boots. The standard width isn't ideal for those with wide feet or anyone who wears thick wool socks (which we all need to do). There is plenty of room in the toe box, though the width seems a bit I had to improvise in order to stretch them. Copper is one of my favorite colors. Despite the darkening of the colour of the cream, mine does not. It is better to use the Bick 4 conditioner rather than the Red Wing brand because the Bick 4 doesn't darken these as much after they are broken in. These are very comfy, after they have been broken We suggest that you try them on at the store or if you are able, go online and order them from there.
