Toe guards are available, but I use these to kick semi tires all day and find them to be quite durable.
First time purchase, shoes fit perfectly with no need for breaking in. Leather is pre-treated for water resistance and is pliable. I'm a big fan of these shoes. In terms of oil resistance, I'm not sure.
For work, I went with the brown ones. They arrived, and as soon as I put them on, I realized they were far too fashionable to wear to work.
Wax your laces yourself or purchase 'pre-waxed' laces.

I wrote a review a while ago but now after more than a month I still believe these are not only the most comfortable work boots I have ever worn but they are absolutely the% So I would strongly advise you to try these boots; you will not be disappointed! Anyone would benefit from these boots, in my opinion.
My unboxing video can be viewed here. I bought a second pair of these boots because I liked them so much. I wore the first pair for a year and they are still in great shape; I just needed some new ones for work. br>br>I took a 2000 mile motorcycle trip in these last July and went through more rainstorms than I can remember. I can vouch for the fact that they are waterproof (provided you wear appropriate rain gear). br>br>They are super comfortable right out of the box and fit perfectly. br>br>For what it's worth, I bought a pair of Thorogood moc toe boots, which are just as good in terms of build quality and far more comfortable. I really wish these were made in the United States of America!.
I ordered my normal size and was considering returning them because they were too tight. But I decided to wait and see if they would break in, and to my surprise, they quickly stretched out and made themselves very comfortable. However, they continued to break in over the next few weeks, and they eventually became too loose. By replacing the insole with something more substantial, I was able to solve the problem. br>br>Water resistance is good on the boots. I used to take them into muddy/wet areas all the time and my feet were always dry, but now I have to stay away from wet areas to avoid injury. br>br>If the soles weren't so dangerously slick, these would be a 4 or 5 star boot. I've slipped and fallen down a few times while wearing these boots because the little tread on the sole wore off quickly. Trying to walk through wet mud is like trying to walk through wet ice; I've never had this problem with flat-soled shoes or boots before. I'm usually steady on my feet, so when I slipped and fell today (probably for the third time in these boots? ), I was surprised. ) I felt compelled to write a review and warn others about the situation. br>br>If I lived in the desert or somewhere where it never rains, I'd probably buy these boots again, but they're not a good fit for me right now. I can only wear these boots from now on if it's completely dry outside, which pretty much negates the point of investing in waterproof boots in the first place.
Please exercise caution. I'm an 11-year-old woman. In a pair of shoes, there are a total of five. I placed an 11 on my order. I was a size 5 in this boot and had to return it because it was far too long. I placed an order for a size 10. The other order was returned because it was too narrow at 5 inches. I'm satisfied with a score of ten. 5 wide, but I almost feel like I could have gotten away with a 10 wide and still be comfortable wearing a thick pair of wool socks. br>br>Also, keep in mind that the insoles aren't glued in (at least, they weren't with mine), so I removed them. Insoles in shoes are something I usually avoid because they aggravate my arches. I prefer flattering clothing. When the insoles were removed, the shoes became much more spacious, and I could have easily gone down to a 10 Wide, or even a 9 if it hadn't been too much of a hassle. 5 Wide, which is mind-boggling to consider given that I have to choose between 11 options. Even with some shoes, sizes 5 and 12 are possible. br>br>Aside from that, I've worn the boots a few times this autumn. They haven't been out in the rain or, more importantly, the snow yet. I adore this style of boot, but I know from experience that when worn out in the snow/ice, they are the most slick and dangerous boots money can buy. It's almost comical how slick these types of boots are in the snow when they're advertised as manly work boots haha. I suppose the kind of masculinity that the Red Wing style boot is aiming for with its customer base is slipping and wiping out in the parking lot on a January morning. When I wear this with a pair of denim jeans and a big ol' heavy flannel, my girlfriend gets all hot for me, so I'll take the attention from a woman over my own personal safety any day. Any man who claims otherwise is merely attempting to appear tough and self-sufficient. But we all know he's only a few lonely Busch Lights away from going on Facebook and messaging high school girls to tell them they're the ones who got away. What I'm saying is, order a size that fits and cross your fingers that a woman will find you worthy of her time; don't be the strong independent guy, be the slippery simp.
CERTAINLY, I WILL RETURN TO THE RED WINGS! I'll give Carhart a chance, but they're no match for Red Wings' quality. As you can see in the photos, the leather has become wavy as a result of wearing them for two weeks. This never happened to my Red Wings after a year of wearing them before they were replaced. Even so, after several emails back and forth with Carhart, they promised to send me new laces, which never arrived, and to be honest, I was tired of the whole process.
They have a big following! These boots are of excellent quality! They have a fantastic appearance and feel to them. The size of these boots, on the other hand, runs about a size and a half larger than my usual shoe size: I usually wear a size 10 1/2 and eventually fit into a size 9. As a result, I would strongly advise purchasing these boots, but ordering a half-size smaller. br>Because these are my first pair of Carhatts, I'm hoping they last a long time.
