You should get size 9 1/2 if you are going to skate in them because they will not pop off and size 12 if you are going to wear them everyday since they are pretty broad for being slip on's.

The shoe is difficult to skate in if it fits loosely over your foot, such as mine did. While I have to wear two pairs of socks with these, if I have two pairs on, they become a fantastic skate shoe. In order to protect the shoe from ripping, it has an inner lining inside. The material is so soft, yet so durable, I've never seen anything like it, once the suede outer layer rips, this rubbery mesh material appears and the durability is even better than the suede itself- The only time I broke from it was in the past two months of skating--if you're just looking for something that looks good and are not into skating, I would disregard the fit issue, you need to be nitpicky in skating trainers, and I wanted something more tailored. A board that fits for a good ride. This shoe is pretty cool, but I would try it on before I made a purchase.
The Lakai Lace-Up shoes I purchased did not live up to my expectations, even though I've had excellent experience with them in the past. There's some difference between them and Vans such as being heavier, harder to get on and off, and having a stiffer sole. Hence, these babies should be on your list if you love that type of music. In the event you think they're comparable to Vans slip ons, purchase the Vans rather than these.
It lasted for 5 to 6 months. Despite the short period of time, there was nothing uncomfortable or inconvenient about it. Brand of great quality.
This pair of shoes left me very disappointed. After a period of five weeks, they wore out. In the end, my son did wear them to skateboard since that is what they are supposed to be used He usually wears out his skate shoes in two to three years. We have been buying him skate shoes for many years. This is my fifth and final post It usually takes about 3 months for us to have to replace the shoes, but these shoes wore out completely in just one.
They are the best shoes I have ever worn, the Lakai Owens, and the best show I have ever seen.
It turned out that my son ordered a pair that was His assumption was that they might "stretch out" a bit while he was outside. I have not had any I really like this shoe, but it runs smaller than expected.
