Gold Toe Men's 656s Cotton Crew Athletic Socks, Multipairs

Goldtoe quality has declined dramatically in recent years, as described by others. I've worn and been pleased with Goldtoe for years, but they are now made differently and the quality is clearly lower. As these tops are sewn over, they are constrictive and will unravel more easily as they wear out. The ripstop is much thinner than the woven ribbing on these tops. Despite the fact that the heels are less reinforced, they are still present. A thinner knit is used around the entire piece (i. e. The thread count is lower). Think of these as a cheap knockoff The quality of Goldtoe will be offs until it resumes it's previous status. The perfect pair of socks would cost me more than I am willing to pay.

I wanted to wait a little while to submit my review so I could see how they hold up over time. Honestly, even after putting them through a lot of wear and tear and washing them over and over again, they still hold up to a lot of wear and tear. There is enough padding to keep your feet comfortable, but not too much that your shoes become cramped. Almost any other pair of socks I have used do a better job at wicking away moisture than these. Besides keeping your feet warm in mild temperatures, it also seems that they provide some warmth during hot weather. Having said that, I've only found one disadvantage to them they loosen up around the ankle after hundreds and hundreds of washes and usage, but for the price just about any other pair of jeans would do the same. These socks will be part of my everyday wear for the foreseeable future.

The high cotton content and lack of polyester makes my feet sweat, so I checked before ordering. The gold toe standard seems to have fallen recently, as others have noted. I noticed that the soles do not have the cushioned feel that my gold toes used to have. I've been buying these socks every few years for as long as I can I accept the fact that the overall cut and feel change a little each year. It is not the year for that. My first pair of socks have ever been tighter and more uncomfortable than I had imagined. I washed and dried it but it did not work. Getting a refund by sending them back.
