Questions & Answers

What country does this scarf originate from?

If the scarf only has fringe on two sides, it was most likely made in China.

What are the chances that it will snag or unravel?

It depends on how you intend to use it. Sage brush in an open area is unlikely. approximately 100% If your hair doesn't cover them, you can wear earrings.

Is there any bleed-through from the dye?

Hand-washed in cold water with a small amount of liquid detergent in the washbasin. A gallon of water is about the right amount. I have the black one, which bled dye so badly that it was impossible to see through the water. After 30 minutes, I repeated the procedure, and it bled again, but not as much. The item stayed black, but because the dye was not properly "set" during manufacturing, I will always hand wash it. If I'm worried about a stain from perspiration, I won't wear it over light-colored clothing.

It's been almost a week and this item still hasn't arrived! ?

Buy elsewhere if you want good quality! This may appear to be a shemagh, but it is the worst one I've ever purchased, held, or owned
3/5

I wore them in the military for 20 years. Don't waste your money on this made-in-China disaster, which features a new type of "see-through" thread count.

The quality is poor
3/5

I'm not happy at all. The item arrived in the same condition as it was shown in the picture. When I removed it from the original packaging, it appeared to be of good quality, and I was very pleased with it. I wore the item for the first time a few weeks after receiving it, but the fabric was coming loose after only ONE use (I wore it around my neck for one afternoon while walking around). Threads are fraying and pulling away from each other. I'm not sure if I got a defective scarf or if this is a typical representation of the product, but I'm very disappointed in the product's quality and would not recommend purchasing it. If mine was just an unusual defect, I'm hoping for a refund or a replacement scarf.

I'm glad I got it
5/5

I'm so glad I got it! The bugs were thick when I went backpacking on Minnesota's north shore. Mosquitoes and flies are a problem. To avoid them, I used a scarf. I thought I just liked the way it looked, but it's actually quite useful!.

Disappointed to a degree
3/5

So what's the deal with the two stars? The pluses and minuses are as follows:br>br>First and foremost, I purchased this Shemagh specifically for the Polar Vortex storm that hit Chicago recently. The Real Feel / Will Chill was - br>br> I use this to cover my mouth and nose when it's 54 degrees (no, that's not a typo). This device did a fantastic job of keeping the cold air at bay. So that's a big plus; it's tough enough to stand up to - Winds are blowing at 54 degrees. br>br>Unfortunately, the downside to this product is that I've only used it twice for a total of maybe 2 hours, and the black stitching is completely loose throughout the Shemagh. This thing appears to have been in my possession for at least five years. br>br>As a result, I can't recommend anything that will fall apart after only two uses.

Nice - However, there is only fringe on two sides
3/5

The scarf is made of a nice material and has a nice design. Fringe is only present on two sides of the. This isn't typical behavior. I've bought a lot of Shemaghs in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have fringe on all four sides at all times. So, while you're nearby, This was a mistake made by the Chinese manufacturer.

Handkerchiefs are extremely versatile, and I've preached their value in survival situations
5/5

This is a much larger, higher-quality cloth that accomplishes the same task. It's large enough to keep you warm in frigid weather. It can also be used as a headwrap to protect against the sun and dust in hot weather or the wind and snow in cold weather. It can provide sun protection. It can be used as a beach seating area. It can be soaked and used to help you stay cool. This item's adaptability is almost infinite. I carry a shemaq with me at all times because it is light and versatile.

Fabric that requires a lot of maintenance
3/5

This square keffiyeh with fringe on two edges is a pleasant scarf to wear. The fabric around the neck can be a little scratchy, but it's otherwise very comfortable to wear. It can be styled in a variety of ways thanks to its large size. Folded in a triangle with the point in front and the ends pulled around the front, this is my favorite. br>br>While the size and color are appealing, the fabric requires a lot of upkeep. Long floats (threads that run over the fabric's surface before being incorporated back into the weave) are used to create the wavy portion of the design, which I didn't notice from the photos. It's more likely to snag as a result of this. Velcro, bra hooks, and other items can easily catch on the fabric, causing the darker threads to fall out of place. It tends to contract after being washed (cold, delicate, in a lingerie bag), leaving the fabric bumpy. Look elsewhere if you're looking for a simple wash-and-wear scarf.

Obtain one if you hike
5/5

I'm still getting used to tying it and the various ways of doing so. It kept the clouds of gnats out of my ears and face during its first hike, which I took yesterday. It felt like a swamp cooler wrapped around my head after I soaked it. It was absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately, the weather was extremely hot, and the water quickly evaporated. The effect of the swamp cooler was short-lived.
