It would be best to have a large one. A sizing tab can be found on the back of the item. The package arrived in a large size and included a ruler It would have been good to get a medium, but since the tab takes care of the sizing issue, no worries there.

Their hats do not fit, even XXL Dakine Indo surf hats. I AGREE, BUT THIS WORKS! Because it has a neoprene inner band, and chin strap, I can wear it with women's small hats as well. A wide range of people would be able to wear it. White churns stuff stays in place even when you land on a water slide or wipeout in the ocean. Aside from drying very fast, the hat also holds its shape in the ocean or pool. Only a few weeks after we bought it, we have run it through the washer twice, and it still looks as good as The smell of mildew will not be present! We are going to go to their store to see if they have hiking hats.
