The leather is soft to the touch, but still has enough friction to not slip off your hand. I purchased the dark blue one because the color matches my US Passport, and I was worried it might make my white pants blue, but the dye used on the leather leaves no traces. Upon closer inspection, the stitches appear all to be even and tightly bound.
