Questions & Answers

The shoulder straps on the backpack are how wide? Are you able to wear it if you have broad shoulders?

I really appreciate you asking that. The straps of the jacket usually loosen further when my wife wears it on our moto trips, but even with a leather jacket (with armor) on seems like there is plenty of room for them to loosen. It would be great if I could be of more help.

If it is allowed to be carried on board, then this bag is a good choice. ?

In short, yes. This bag has been a carry-on on several African trips over the years

Is this bag a tote bag? How big and heavy is it?

The transporter 40 in this image is the latest version, isn't it?

A little over 18 months ago, we purchased these packs. At the time, it was the current version. I'm not sure if there has been a revision since then. So far, the packs have been on trips to Peru, Ecuador, and Zambia, where they have performed admirably. The packs and a smaller backpack allow us to travel for at least two weeks.

The design of the site is flawed
3/5

I love the size of this bag for a 3-inch tablet The shape is amazing, but it has some obvious design flaws as I've discovered on my 5-day trip.

The top of the bag (through which you access the main compartment) is coated in a plastic material, which I adore, but oddly, the outside of the bottom is not covered in the same Rather than the plastic coating being on the outside of the bag, the bottom panel is coated on the inside, which means that when the bag is placed on the ground, the fabric is on the inside. A major problem with the bag is that the part expected to get dirtiest is not coated with a wipeable, easily wiped coating Material that has been cleaned. It also means that on your back when you carry the bag, the bottom of the bag will be facing out (possibly with wet, You hold the fabric part of the bag against your back. When you do this, you are holding the plastic-coated fabric part of the bag. This causes you to sweat because you aren't breathing. There is also no padding on the panel facing your back (like on Trailkits or Snowkits). In addition to the lack of extra pockets, I was also disappointed to discover that none of the compression / cinch straps were included. The bag has straps that allow you to hold your belongings in place inside, but because of the design of the bag, your items are held in place by The weight of the bag is so light you don't feel it on your back when you place it on your back if it's not packed full. It would be great if the bag had compression straps on the outside that would allow you to pull the weight towards your back (especially when it's on your body). At the moment, this bag will be returned to the owner. the next version will prove to be just what it needs to be.

The third bag is on its way
4/5

As a backpacker (mainly in urban settings), I live on the road. In my research for this purpose, I have tried several bags from Osprey. With a Porter 46, I began my journey with Osprey. After that, I moved onto an The Osprey Transporter is what I am currently using. How do I know I need the bag and where am I going with it? It does not matter where I work I have time to explore between, and I work in different cities. The vast majority of my time is spent in urban areas. The commute should not involve hiking or climbing. If necessary, take a cab, train, bus or plane instead. Around seven or eight items in my bag You have 10 days worth of clothing, a laptop, a camera, and gym shoes. My purpose is simple I do not require a multitude of straps and bells. To carry in an urban environment, I need a bag that can hold as much as possible, is sturdy, and has decent padding and support. Here is my progression, with respect to what I'm trying to achieve In terms of bulk, the Porter 46 with a "straightjacket" design is far too big. The bulletproof vest is not clear to me in what circumstances it would be useful It provides a strong protection akin to the U. S. military. It was just a hassle, excessive, and weighty feeling after lugging it around for 2 trips. Because it is so rigid, due to the fact that it is hard to stuff in things, I really did not notice the extra 6L over my 40L bags. After resolving these issues, I moved on to the next part of the process, the well-being of the organization Review of Farpoint 40 and recommendation of the product. About four trips (from Pacific Northwest USA, Southeast Asia, and Central Europe) were done with this bag. A popular bag does have a good reason for being so popular. With its good balance of protection, sturdiness, organizational pockets, and spacious main compartment, it is one of the best bags on the market. The bag also has a very good frame, an impressive hip strap, and two outer straps to secure the bag. After thinking about the benefits of the Transporter 40L so carefully, why did I decide to upgrade to it? My problem is that the FP40 had too many pockets that I wasn't able to utilize. This bag has one large bulky bag and one small bag The outer compartment is padded and has a slot for a laptop and two little pen pockets. The interior pocket is mesh. This is the only place I use for my laptop, and this is a large amount of space taken up for just In my opinion, versatility is the only thing that counts for me. The additional 4 boxes could have been filled with at least one more set of clothes When the need arises, I have five shirts to hand. This is my next test with the Transporter 40 so here I am. In comparison to the Porter 46L and the Farpoint 40L, it has one giant compartment that helps me make better use of it. All it is really is just a giant bag with backpack straps that is very sturdy and spacious. My most recent trip to New Zealand allowed me to fit about 12 T-shirts I had each of those items at my disposal, as well as a laptop, a camera, a bag of toiletries, 10 pairs of socks, 10 pairs of underwear, and my toiletry bag. Both my Porter 46 and FP 40 could accommodate just about the same amount, excluding There is definitely more room in it. This was how I first took a look at this bag when it arrived at my door. That's all right. I am apprehensive. Rolling it up into a cube was the way that it arrived. It really did not make any sense to me why this was done. If I had to roll my main travel bag up and pack it at some point, what would I do? Moreover, it was very soft and malleable, and I immediately thought it indicated a lack of structure as well as There was a serious risk that I would have returned it because it was not what I expected at all. Yet, I had already unpacked it, and it was the next day when I had to leave. After thinking it over, I made the decision to just dive in and try it. Obviously, this bag has been on 2 months' travel in Europe, and I have just returned from it This bag has impressed me in the following ways The pros are There is a duffel bag strap as well as a It is actually a big pro for me that this feature exists. Traveling with a backpack is my go-to style. With a shoulder bag, I switch between the two. As for the other bags, I end up having to hold them by my arms, which I find annoying. On this last trip, this design of duffle bag proved to be very helpful to me, allowing me to get onto and off of planes, buses, and into tight spaces easily. *In the main compartment, the Porter and Farpoint hold much more than the Porter and Farpoint. This package does not occupy much space if you do not need little pockets to organize your things. In spite of that, however, there are several issues that need to be addressed - Offered by a brand that is no longer in business, this bag lacks organization, so if you need a laptop slot or a little space for knick-knacks, this bag is not recommended. A positive is that there is only one pocket on the top and it is quite large. Aside from my wallet, keys, bar of soap, phone, power bank, watch, and 4 Cliff bars, I was able to fit my other items as well. pocket of pretty decent size the only con is the following There is only one top pocket and one main compartment this time around. It will not be possible to organize your belongings in The OUTER STRAPS to cinch down your stuff are NOT provided. The Farpoint 40 has only the INTERIOR straps, which is okay, but I really miss the outer straps on the Farpoint 40. It would be great to see outer straps in the next iteration.

This is the ideal travel bag! Exactly what I was looking for! To begin with, I want to commend the quality of the gear produced by Osprey
5/5

It is the second backpack I have purchased from them, and I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. My original purchase of the Sirrus 24 was made before I did any It was important to me that a backpack could carry 3 people I am traveling through Europe with enough clothing to last for four days. Until later, I discovered the Sirrus 24 could only hold 2 days worth of food and gear for me, but it wasn't until then that I realized he was made All I paid attention to was how big it was. In other words, research is key! I ended up keeping it because I liked it so much. Once I return to the States, I am confident that I will use it to good effect. Earlier this morning, I got an e-mail and it was just what I was seeking. Whether I carry it as a backpack or duffel bag is up to me. In the overhead compartment of the aircraft, the material is sturdy but not so hard that it will not be flexible. Even for someone like me who travels light to begin with, I will be able to fit three items in my suitcase The whole thing is in here for 4 days. Despite my short height of 5' 1", it sits well on the back of my head.
